Any time Ray French says "now then...", you know you're going to see a legendary try!
Awesome tries from these Absolute Legends
Rest well, Ray! Some amazing moments here, commented on wonderfully.
That Ferguson try against Hull in the '85 Challenge Cup final was one of the best ever 💥
I find it hard to choose between the Marshall, Offiah (head in hands) and the Tomkins tries. They're all classics for me!
What is your favourite Challenge Cup try of all time?
Lovely jubbly. :-)
The Joel Tomkins one by a mile
1988 Wigan v Halifax. Lydon to Hanley length of field effort, straight from kickoff after Wigan had just scored. Ray French was telling us how Dick Fairbank had come on to beef up Halifax’s defence only for Lydon to slice through it like butter.
We've been blessed with some amazing finals over the years. Some amazing players to boot. How good was Offiah? My dad always used to say you can be as good as you like but you can't beat speed! Hated watching him at the time (Saints fan) but can't say anything bad about him looking back!
John Atkinson for Leeds in all his glory. Sadly lost his battle with dementia. I wonder how many others from this list were similarly affected. Does anyone know of any others?
What the hell is Brent Webb doing on that Joel Tomkins try?
What about Stuart Wright's try against Wakefield in 1979?
