Serena never had a problem handling her serve lol. In fact, Serena used to stomp all over her down the t serve lmao
Watch the same serve to a man. He would react & be able to position himself to return the serve.
Congratulations! πππππ
Sharapova's serve sucked. She had way too high of a ball toss and coudln't deal with any wind. Very inconsistent and a lot of double faults. DO NOT emulate this serve. It WASNT at all a literal weapon, it was a detriment to her game. Who creates this content anyway? And, incidentally, for someone over 6'2" tall, her serve is comparatively very weak for someone her size. Not just my opinion, but I cannot recall any commentators (who were ex players) really EVER make any comments that she had a great serve. She Always had consistency problems. Consistently problems with the serve nearly always stem from poor biomechanics (aka poor stroke form) and timing. The number one problem with her serve was too high of a ball toss, which in addition to more difficult timing (hitting a ball accelerating from its high point downward) also meant that her swing would be delayed (or DE-celerated, not accelerated) and thus produce less raquet head speed than she was capable of generating.
