Kia ora boys! One thing I love about Origin is how the media can get so focused on certain storylines and ignore others. There is a lot of talk about how NSW need to fix their starts, which no one can argue with. But one thing that has not been spoken about is that Queensland, for a while have been very poor in the second half and I've got numbers to back it up. Since game 2 of 2024 in Melbourne, across 5 games, Queensland have scored just 10 points in the second half. Twice they have failed to score, and if you remember Perth last year, it was Lomax having an off night with the boot that cost NSW a 20 point comeback and series win. To my mind, they need something different from the bench, perhaps an Ezra Mam type player and they should also look to give Harry a spell early in the second half so he can come back in the last 20 and make an impact there. Wondering what your thoughts are, and if NSW might actually have a psychological advantage in knowing that if they can keep it tight for the first 40, Queensland don't have the same second wind.

This is your breakdown of the Cowboys versus Raiders Sunday game by your resident Cowboys analyst. This Game has left me with more questions then answers. The truth is that the Cowboys were flat and very very mediocre. Full credit to the Raiders, they’re small lock forward and two big props dominated the Cowboys middle. I was really impressed by the Raiders and I feel a strong run inbound for them. This performance typifies the sort of performance that the Cowboys need to remove from their Game. They came out looking tired slow and ultimately not showing winning mentality. The attack was not potent, the left edge could not get anything going, drinkwaters refusal to move and create numbers on the left side create an issue on making space for the likes of Jaxon Purdue. So many of our set please ended with Sam McIntyre on the wing, why is our back rower playing so far from the middle? I am gobsmacked the selection of Matt Lodge in the middle to start the game. He was slow and proved to me that what I’ve been saying for weeks about him being a fantastic punch player of the bench is all he has to offer his stints were too long. Jase seemed off this one. A shining light was helium luki as he made his tackles and did a fantastic job playing up against Ethan strange. The raiders exposed that through sheer physicality and ball pressure on Scott Drinkwater you can overpower the Cowboys. I don’t have much to say on the referees. They just seemed to let a lot go but referee a little harder towards the Cowboys in terms of how long you could stay in the ruck. A true heart to heart from your resident cowboys analyst. I’ve been doing this for 2 and a half months now. As an 18 year old from western Sydney, I’ve grown up around sports. I predominantly played basketball but in 2022 I had a severe injury which stopped me from ever playing at a high level. During the Months I was injured in 2022 I fell in love with the cows all over again like I did as a child in 2017 with Michael Morgan. I’ve been lucky enough to go to games in person and witness incredible and horrible performance’s first hand. I started commenting about the cowboys because I felt nobody ever talks about them. I admire the warriors because they get very similiar treatment. I looked to the mainstream media and saw enough bulldogs propaganda (not hating on the dogs it’s just so forced down your throat) that I had enough. I know it’s only a comments a week but thank you to all the support from the community and to those at levels I never played footy but I did coach basketball. And you may say “ethan, there is no correlation between those two sports” but in fact the same principles in analysis is true you just have to understand the game to see what’s going on at a deeper level. Thank you to horo, luki and the big og himself. You guys have elevated my understanding of the game to a new level this year and the shout out last week made my week. Hey guys, L1 from day 2. I haven't seen anyone talk about it, but in the Panthers v Wahs game, on the play before alamoti goes in for the final try of the game iPap is in front of the play the ball (therefore out of play) and gets involved in the play. I know it's a very easy to miss rule, but it is a rule the refs have been good at picking up historically, and it had a material impact on the game. I haven't heard anything about it in being reviewed by the refs, and I don't know how the game would have played out without it, but if it was an obstruction everyone would be losing their heads that the refs missed it in the 1 vs 2 game. Just bringing it up to see if you agree with me or if I'm being crazy and don't know the rules. This is coming from a chooks fan btw. Keep up the great work.

Awesome poddy boys! In regard to the refs, thoughts on going back to 2 refs? Having 1 dominant ref and the other just to keep the ruck clean, similar to what we had but would suit the faster current game! Also having 2 live opinions on the big calls I.e origin 1. this could deflect so much criticism on the 1 ref?

Afternoon from Wales fellas, on your bunker integrity thread - for decisions like the Ponga send off i believe the NRL should take influence from our rival code. For a big decision that goes to the bunker in union, all three on field Refs come together and have an open, televised conversation with the bunker in which they establish the facts of the incident and go through a clear process to decide the outcome. Would you like to see a similar system come into the NRL to not only give more clarity to the fans and media as to why a certain outcome was reached, but also take the heat off the individual referee to agree with or override the bunker as the decision becomes a group effort. Big fan of the poddy, Cheers gents.

Boys, L1 from day 300 With the NRL needing to bring in another game each week with the new teams joining the competition. There are rumours of either an extra Sunday game or bringing back the Monday night game. I think the Monday night game will work best. The biggest downfall for the Monday night is getting people to the game. For the Monday to work i think they should have the games played at suburban grounds expecially bringing the Bears back into the competition (north syd oval, Leichhardt, Cambletown etc) and also utilising our country grounds as they always will fill out regardless of the day. Doing this will bring a wider audience and could even do it in other states to bring people to the game aswell as filling out smaller grounds will look good on the tv. It might take a bit of a hit on the teams having to play there but the NRL could negotiate with whoever gets the broadcast rights to be able to give some releif to the clubs and clubs could also add into their memberships tickets to games for people out of the city if the games go close to their town. Whats your thoughts
