How was that no penalty on GBR?? is it because they were the Leeward boat? But they were overlapping were they not? I’d like to hear the reasoning behind their decision would be interesting.

so Sail GP gives extra points to France when they have technical problems and can't compete, but when Spain wins two races and then can't compete because of technical problems, no points. How is that fair ?
Commentators, please stop waffling on about a load of nothing and keep your eyes on the race. You totally missed GBR falling off the foils on leg 5 of the 1st race and USA steam into their lead.
Hopefully they’re not gonna do this in New York anymore. The course is too small. The wind is terrible and the New Yorkers don’t care for it.
So the obvious problem you can see here is that when the comentators are payed by the organizers instead of by an independent brodcasting company just covering the event, then everything just seems fake

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there needs to be someone on the leeward hull at all times.
Man, that last leg was a masterclass. Slingsby positioned himself so that he was on a line on the inside, but also rather than getting gassed by Fletcher, Slingsby was hanging perfectly in GBR's slipstream. That ensured that GBR couldn't drop him, and when they got to the lay line, Slingsby still had control, in spite of Fletcher's very aggressive attack. That whole last 30 seconds was all about boat handling, and Slingsby, by virtue of having done this more than anyone else, had the slight advantage and the win. The umpires didn't call the hot tack on GBR because it wouldn't have changed the results. On another note; Phil Robertson is a menace. He always has been. Technically he was in the right, but I hope the other two boats get repaired first, such that Italy has to sit out Halifax.

Maybe… this isn’t sailing and the rules need to change? The Italian boat was in the right but also that was not right.
The whole event was let down by the stupidity small course.
USA need to be presented a rule book. Maybe ger them off the circuit until they can successfully pass an oral exam. Who cares if they're fast if they don't know the rules or at least don't abide by them. How many boats is it ok to destroy each season?
And here we have a second crash this season caused by Phil Robertson. When will the league admit he is too aggressive and a danger to everyone else on the water.
As fast as these boats are they need a bigger course. Some songs last longer than some of these races. And since when do races start on a reach instead of a beat to weather.
