She gets rescued by some extended family members that lived far away before the end of the series. What's crazy is I recall a clip that as soon as they show up with authorities, the evil mom jumps one of her family members (I think an estranged sister) there to take the girl and starts punching her in a rage, right there in front of the police! She gets karma'd on the spot and arrested for both the abuse and the assault. We see the girl grows up happy from that point on and has a kid of her own she happily dotes on.
