I’m Nigerian and we pray like this because we live in close proximity with high level spiritual wickedness. Your child’s classmate could be a witch, your aunty could be upset with your success and visit the witch doctor. There are kidnappers that abduct buses to use everyone there for ritual killings, if you can’t pray, you will be meat for Satan, so we learn to confront darkness in prayer from an early age. We learn to war. I was 14 when my schoolmate tried to initiate me into the occult, I was in boarding school, but I already learnt to pray. When she summoned my spirit for initiation, she said Jesus walked in instead of me and destroyed their gathering. She confessed months later, also of the evil she had done to a lot of her classmates, including her boyfriend who she made completely dumb mentally. He went from being second position in class to being last position. So if you don’t pray or teach your kids to pray, you are gone gone.
