The new Polestar 5 is finally here and Nicola has been among the first to drive it on proper roads, including the final leg of Polestar’s epic Sweden-to-Sahara road trip through southern Spain and Gibraltar. This sleek new electric GT is aimed straight at the Porsche Taycan, Lotus Emeya and Mercedes EQS, bringing up to 884hp, a claimed 421 miles of range and ultra-fast 350kW charging. But is it actually good enough to tempt buyers away from Porsche? In this video, Nicola finds out what the Polestar 5 is really like to drive, whether the clever MagneRide suspension lives up to the hype, and if the Performance version is worth the extra cash. There’s also a closer look at the dramatic exterior design, the minimalist Scandinavian interior, the controversial missing rear window and the surprisingly compact boot. The Polestar 5 sits on a completely bespoke platform engineered with help from former Aston Martin and Lotus experts, and it promises supercar pace with long-distance comfort. But with the electric Jaguar looming on the horizon, should you buy this now, stick with a Taycan, or wait to see what Jag delivers? Watch to the end for Nicola’s full verdict, and let us know in the comments whether you’d choose the Polestar 5 over its rivals. #Volkswagen #GTI #IDPoloGTI #ElectricGTI #HotHatch #VWGTI #ElectricCars #CarReview #Walkaround 🎥 Subscribe to Electrifying YouTube: https://electrifyingcom.short.gy/KK1pbX 🎧 Electrifying Podcast: https://electrifyingcom.short.gy/Pogjfb ✉️Electrifying.com Newsletter: https://www.electrifying.com/newsletter Follow Electrifying.com ⬇️ INSTAGRAM: http://instagram.com/electrifyingcom FACEBOOK: https://facebook.com/electrifyingcom/ X: https://twitter.com/ElectrifyingCom TIKTOK: https://tiktok.com/@electrifyingcom ——————————————————————————————- Check back for the latest new car reviews on everything electric ✅ the latest car reviews ✅ car advice and explainers ✅ used and new car guides ✅ head-to-heads WANT MORE ELECTRIFYING.COM? They forgot the back window? Why
Gorgeous and the car was ok too. As an American, I could listen to your voice for hours.
Nicola is just the best. She's hilarious 🤣
I know it's large and a luxury car, but 2,500 kg. Wow. Combined with that amount of torque I'd be going through tires like mad.
Stunning ! And the car isn't bad either ! I wonder if the sustainable materials will last like an old Merc ? /bnDG-dh-IgM?si=eQ9t7zZxNIi2tqsJ
You can pick up a 5 year old Taycan with 30k miles for a little over £30k. This will be a very affordable purchase at that age and mileage..
There is more piano black surfaces in the Polestar than in the Audi q6, and that was a major complaint you had about the q6. What’s the deal with that?
Excellent review. I can't wait to see the car in real life
I did not get used to the no rear window because their mirror is 3-4 inches closer than a normal rearview mirror. My eyes couldn't focus properly so turned it off to have a normal mirror to see my crew in the back instead. Not for me, still a Mirror guy!
Do you still prefer your Seal you had
For that power, its quite slow to 60mph 👀🤔 The back looks great though. Insane personality
After my EX90 was written off I will get one, we when there actually for sale. I am not getting the fast one, my EX30 scares me and that's 3.6 secs.
The seatbelt makes it look like you’re wearing a school uniform 😂
"it met my expectations" -> headline: "I was shocked"
It kinda sets the Ferrari Luce in perspective.
They keep getting bigger and bigger! We are now living (in Europe, at least) with absurdly wide new cars in a world designed with narrow streets and even narrower parking slots. No way I could park a car like this at my home’s garage! But it looks nice…
Agreed to play the “Nicola says ‘It’s a nice to be’ drinking game… f I’m pis$ed…
The joke my google thing said when you asked the car: "Why didn't the cheese want to get sliced? It had GRATER plans." Budum tssssss
Great presenting Nicola. ❤Always fun and entertaining reviews of cool cars. 😊
Such an amazing looking car but the price point really limits the appeal.
