If you own a Tesla Model 3, Model Y, or Model S — this affects your battery warranty directly. Right now you're probably doing at least 3 things that Tesla's warranty team will use against you if you ever need a major repair. Not because you're careless. Because nobody told you these 9 traps existed — and Tesla's legal team counted on that. A $15,000 battery replacement. A $4,000 HVAC failure. A $1,200 charge port repair. All of them potentially uncovered. All of them preventable — if you know what to look for. In this video: → The charging habit that creates a grey zone on your battery claim → The $40 filter that protects a $5,000 repair → Why paint damage follows every future warranty claim → The software update gap Tesla's service team looks for first → The one thing to do at every service visit that Tesla won't remind you about THE RULE: Tesla's warranty covers what they cannot blame on you. Your job — from the day you take delivery — is to give them nothing to blame. Next week — the appliance industry wrote this same playbook 20 years before Tesla existed. Do your own maintenance and keep all of your receipts, dated with the mileage. Keep everything in a folder, available to present if challenged by the manufacturer. No vehicle manufacturer can force you to have your vehicle serviced at their Service Departments only. This is against the law in every state.
This is so much bullshit anyone that actually owns a Tesla knows this is all wrong. Just admit your a hater.
This is not just a Tesla thing. This is every car manufacturer everywhere.
You make it sound like a Tesla thing. This is true of EVERY automobile warranty.
Garbage video - starts with a lie! Charging to 100% will not Void your warranty! Given thumb down !
When setting the charge limit to 100%, you now have the option to make it one-time only
Most of them are not true.
Important note on LFP batteries: The 80% charging guidance in this video applies to NMC battery chemistry (most Model 3 Long Range and Model Y). If you have an LFP battery (Standard Range, some Model 3 RWD), Tesla actually recommends charging to 100% regularly. Check Settings → Software to confirm your battery type.
Trying tp make it sound bad for Tesla? Most of the items here are worst case scenarios that doesn't happen to the most owners. This video is just another FUD. Tesla service centers are not paid to reduce the cost like many legacy auto dealers. Although some info. might be good as a precautionary measure, what this video is trying to portrait is far from the truth.
I charge my battery to 85 percent everyday and never go near 90 or 20 percent. Its pretty healthy at 8 years old. You can void your battery warrenty and motor warrenty simply by changing the oil or flushing the coolant, let that sink in. Maintence is key lifetime coolant and oil dont exist its a legend not truth.
So buying a Tesla mean you will never own the car and Tesla will cheap out at ever opportunity
The maintenance is logged in you app. Too many of the cautions are WRONG
After watch this video, lot of people will be afraid to buy the Tesla car due to so many cases to lost the car warranty.
But LFP battery recommended to charge to 100%, right?
Does not apply to lfp batteries they are meant to be charged to 100% all the time.
I'm glad I got rid of mine.
Which of the 9 surprised you most? Most people say #9 — the inspection report — because Tesla's service process is specifically not designed to remind you about it. Drop your answer below 👇
Y’all keep forgetting the LFP battery cars.
Doing business with musk? Good luck...
