Major reason is hyundai is little bit slow on updates and no new exciting launches. Also earlier they used to sell lot more diesels which is not the case right now. In there lower segments majorly petrol options are available which have issue of low mileage . If they retune engine to enough power with decent mileage then they can do well

One important aspect, you should have mentioned is their design language. Over the last couple of years, Hyundai cars have only deteriorated in terms of design. And that digital instrument cluster; nah!! 😒 2010-2020, Hyundai did have a great line-up with appealing designs; including models such as Sanata Fe, Elantra. Post 2020, things have only gotten worse.
