I’ve followed you since lock down - crikey 6 years ago - never doubted your integrity and loved your enthusiasm for all things automotive. One of the best and most professional youtube channels so don’t be put down and carry on the excellent work.

People are unhinged. I get disliking the car... but attacking the individual/Petrol Ped (or others) is crazy to me.

This is only the second video I’ve watched from your channel, and I’m genuinely staggered that you’ve felt the need to make this follow-up. Until the last few weeks, I hadn’t watched many car review channels. My wife and I are looking at investing in an EV over the next few months, so I’ve been doing a lot of research. There are some genuinely informative and engaging creators on YouTube, and after being bombarded with Luce videos over the last week, I came across yours. As a long-time Ferrari enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed your review. It struck me as balanced, honest and reflective of the limited time you had with the car. It was obvious you weren’t presenting a deep-dive ownership review; you were giving your impressions after a brief first look, just like every other journalist invited to the launch. Blitzing through a 17-minute video in one take is impressive in itself. Your review gave me a genuine appreciation of the Luce and highlighted both the positives and negatives that could reasonably be identified during the short time you had with it. In fact, it was your presenting style, tone and objectivity that led me to watch this video as well. To those who left negative comments, questioned your integrity, or somehow convinced themselves that Ferrari had paid you to deliver a glowing review: get a grip. Not every positive opinion is bought and paid for. Sometimes people simply have a different view to your own. The inability to accept that says far more about the commenter than it does about the reviewer. It took me one video to decide that I liked your style, your delivery and your ability to communicate an opinion without resorting to outrage or clickbait. I’ll certainly be tuning in again. As for the Luce itself, I like it. I appreciate it’s different, and perhaps not what many people expected from Ferrari, but the more I’ve seen of it, the more it’s grown on me. If you looked at the car without the badge, many people would probably judge it far more favourably. The moment you put a Ferrari badge on it, everyone arrives with a preconceived opinion. And that’s all it is at the end of the day—an opinion. And for those criticising Ferrari for building the Luce: when you’ve spent nearly a century designing and building some of the world’s most iconic cars, you’ve earned the right to take a few risks and try something different. Whether you like the result or not is entirely up to you, but Ferrari doesn’t need permission from the internet to innovate. Keep up the good work, brother.

Well framed and appropriate response sir!. The internet is full of ill-informed people who seek the opportunity to lash out. Your posts are well presented, well produced and enjoyed by many. You have no reason to justify anything. 👍. It will divide opinions, it will sell out and it will be revered in the future.

Sorry to hear that you’re receiving stick for attending a difficult product launch. I’ve been following your channel for some time and your integrity and honesty is (to me) never in doubt. Chin up Peter.

Pete, I think you’ve actually made it slightly worse by a rather defensive video. I get the idiots who have clearly wound you up, I’m sure it’s got to you. I think Shmee got the balance right. Say that it’s controversial and it’s not for you, but for goodness sake don’t try and defend the indefensible. You’ve actually poured more petrol on the fire with this second video. Just keep doing what you do, if you don’t like something, there’s ways of saying it without actually saying it. Watch Shmee’s review again.

Ped, despite agreeing with much of what you say in this video, I’m afraid that you come across as thin skinned and defensive, surprising attributes for someone who places themself in the public domain. Calling people bellends who make comments you disagree with isn’t really acceptable especially as their views are generating your income.

Nothing personal against you but it is such a bizarre take by all car journalists that are in love with that car. I think people are just fed up with companies selling us BS and pretend that it’s the next best thing in the world. 99% of your viewers can’t afford nor will ever have money to spend on a car. It’s not about the product, it’s about being somehow honest. Ps. I think red colour is way better than the old lady underwear most thumbnails show. I have a feeling this design will look better in few years time it’s just shocking for it to be a Ferrari.

That Ives fella got his foot in the door on one of my favourite brands a couple of years ago. There is a company in Glasgow called Linn. They have been producing some of the very best domestic audio reproduction systems since to 1970s. I own a lot of Linn gear. I've had my turntable (LP12) since 1991. The LP12 is an iconic turntable in the hi-fi world. Upgradeable, many, many parts interchangeable (I call mine Trigger's broom). Anyway, they got Ives in to do a few aesthetic tweaks and charged for it. The end result was a few rounded corners. Linn were being very safe in that they didn't allow anything Ives suggested to have a detrimental effect on performance. I don't know why Ferrari got this bunch of stylists to meddle with their product when there are so many talented Italian coachbuilders on their doorstep.

From what Tim said, the event sounded quite uncomfortable and stressful when filming. Having all the people watching, and trying to use the 30 mins you had with the car. Your video was very informative, as a stand alone car it's not bad. I just can't look at it like it's a Ferrari though.

Honestly, yours was the only review of the Luce I watched as I knew you'd give a balanced take. I've watched about 2 mins of this video and realised what it's about, but the reason why I won't watch it in full is because you don't have to apologise! I for one appreciate your content, keep up the excellent work!

Peter, don't change anything. I watch your channel because of you and your enthusiasm. Do I love all the cars you review? No, but I'm always open to new ideas and even concepts of future transport. Your reviews give me the chance to dream and experience vicariously, driving cars I could never afford to own. I realized a long time ago that people have different ideas about what is beautiful or ugly. There is no right or wrong in this regard. People need to step back and measure their responses to someones opinion. Stay calm and carry on! You're channel is valued and your reviews are fantastic! P.S. I've owned a Jaguar, 5 Series BMW, Honda Legend, Ford Granada 2.8i ghia (my first car) and most other brands in between. I now own a Peugeot Partner WAV vehicle, which I love for it's practicality and 0-60 time of roughly 2 days! That's why I'm never too bothered about those who lust after quick cars for whatever reason. I enjoy and appreciate any car I own, just for getting me from A to B, and enjoy watching people driving their vehicles in various situations and environments for entertainment!
