This is going to be a massive blow to the hobby of making blasters as well. We've been seeing more and more AMAZING, creative TOYS whose patterns are also going to be easily mistaken for gun blueprints. I wouldn't be surprised if toy companies are hoping to add copyright enforcement into that database, too. Think of it: No more DnD mini knockoffs, no more replacement pieces for Mouse Trap, no more printed cosplay pieces for Captain America, it'll all be illegal before the end of this decade.
It should be completely illegal to put anything in the state budget except budget stuff

As someone from the UK the whole debate over censorship / surveillance involving tech is fascinating. One thing I can say is I haven't seen a well thought out law involving the internet in any western country since the whole online safety thing kicked off. I just think we're going to keep getting ever more draconian laws.
