I got used M50xBT2 and ordered pads and headband cover from ali and let me tell you that they're so sweet to use, plug into my laptop and pair to my phone via bluetooth

imo the audio technica M50x needs to be the fourth horseman at 1:17. so many gamers, streamers, "audiophiles", etc. use them now, and they've been used by so many awesome musicians... they're basically the most popular DJ headphone even lol

In 2004 when I was 13 my dad had a pair of HD280s and I thought they were the COOLEST. He gave that old pair to me recently, complete with peeling pads, and I love them so much.

You can tell heaphones were one of the earliest hit output modes for diminishing returns by the form innovation has mainly taken place over the last two decades in terms of what actually sells. While displays have continued to push specs that create noticeable differences in the viewed experience; refresh rate, resolution, brightness, color volume. Headphones have mainly just innovated in terms of features and function. Noise cancelling, form factor, bluetooth, etc.. There are some fields like spatial audio, but in terms of raw *fidelity* headphones are pretty close to maxed if your source is solid.

My PC sounds like a jet engine, been using these for years, but they're very uncomfortable, hurt like hell if you wear them for a couple days consecutively. Also the polsters they have these days rip way too easily. Shrinkflation be shrinkflating.

Bro the amount of music assignments those got me through is wild. And honestly so goated for ripping drums would probs be deaf if it wasn't for them. And the fact we had a pair plugged into arguablely the nicest $35,000 mixing desk is so funny😭🙏

I have my HD 599 SE and am happy with that On the other hand I have a small MP3 Player with 2gb that was a promotional gift together with the headphones that came with my previous samsung phone. It realy lets me appreciate good sounding music my father has ripped fom CD's

The HD280 Pros got me all through music uni, between the mixing studio and those I was able to complete all my recording assignments, listen back to rehearsals on the train home, ear training. You won’t hear everything with clear defined details but you can hear everything. I’m terrible with bass mixing at times and using the pros to help reference after mixing on speakers was a godsend. For anyone who wants a cheap pair of cans that last and sound really great for the price, I can not record them enough. Then the jubilee for nicer open air sound staging :)
