Patreon → https://www.patreon.com/c/wickedwiz Twitter → https://twitter.com/WickedWizard15 What's taking so long with Scrap Mechanic? Is a question that's being asked more as time goes on. It's been in early access for 10 years, fair enough, but it's been 6 years since Survival Mode released and now everyone is still waiting for Chapter 2. Scrap Mechanic is a great concept and great game, make no mistake of that, but it appears to be stuck in development with little to no communication on what's going on. Axolot Games, the developers behind the popular Survival Game Raft are still working on the game. But it's clear that ambition has taken it's tole. I didn't feel that the story was deep enough to turn it into a what went wrong, however I do feel that it was worth at least bringing together the top level timeline of what happened to a game that now sits in many people's libraries.

omg i forgot about this. ITS STILL IN EARLY ACCESS?!
Kan, Scrapman, and Kosmo have been basically keeping the community alive through their hide and seek series.
Whats going on with scrap mechanic? Nothing
Didn't expect you to talk about this game. It's definitely one of those "can't bring myself to hate it, but god is it hard to ignore the flaws" situations
RIP my mechanic she got hit by a potato
Their update schedule is basically the "technically, Julius Caesar died more than 50 years ago" meme
They took so long that scrap mechanic is now in minecraft.
1:16 I appreciate you showing the filters you used on Steam reviews. That's some quality journalism, right there; transparency with how you gathered your information.
Nothing ever scrappens
Zomboid player here. I understand.
0:55 a second Hopium Tanker has hit the Twin Hopium Towers
it's been so long that skeleton somehow looks even more dead. We gonna get gta 6 before this game
1000+ hour scrap mechanic fan here. I wish the devs communicated. It genuinely feels like the game is abandonware with how incredibly rare any sign of life from axolot is
The worst part is KNOWING that an update is going to happen but NEVER knowing WHEN. I wish so desperately that they would just do smaller content drops. As much as I'm glad to have the updates be as "polished as possible" (I know they're overhauling the game) but holy sh t, I know I can't do anything but wait, but I'm tired of the silence and tired of the lack of anything. Edit: And to be clear, I know it will be worth the wait, but it's still tiring
got born went to school moved towns mom died finished school and this game is still in early access
sounds like they did an update so that steam didn't put the "this game might be abandoned" tag on it.
I feel like part of it is like a death spiral of "oh no we've been taking so long so it also has to be better, cuz otherwise they're not gonna accept it, let's do a bit more" over and over again to the point that it's been 6 fucking years. idk I feel like they could've at least released some of the new, clearly finished parts like the sticky wheels to creative mode so people had new stuff to play around with during the wait to use it in survival with the new gameplay. it's early access. they can push unfinished stuff.
When you bank in on the Fact that the Kids are too young to remember Banjo & Kazooie Nuts & Bolts
This game could have been a forever game if it was done right
I loved building trains in this game as a kid It's been so long ago that now I'm a train driver irl as an adult 😭
