The subtle flash from the dead Guardsman to the Emperor, with his eye facing towards the Guardsman's body. Its almost as if the Emperor DOES notice the singular Guardsman's death, he may even notice every single one, but then pairing it with the "You will not be missed"? Chefs kiss. Really drives home that the Emperor protects HUMANITY, not individual people.

The Emperor switching between a corpse and how he looked 10,000 years ago is almost exactly how Gulliman described him when he remembers speaking to him in Godblight. What a good callback!
