My man wearing shorts,, i saw that livestream
Maresca realised this a year back and went full attack.
Peak Haramball by Arteta
The thing is, the full retreat mode probably wasn't sustainable for 90mins either
After half time PSG’s forwards looked to get on the ball a lot deeper, leading Arsenal to he more stretched as they engaged higher up
Second half Arsenal looked shattered, the extra 10k mins players this season probably has something to do with that
Me watching that game if not for the penalty PSG created nothing
No corners, no own goals, no party..
Just beat them like maresca
Football was saved last night either way.
This wasn't Luis Enrique's first rodeo 😅
Funny how he made Psg look average when he attacked last time Donnarumma saved psg. His defensiveness killed him.
Not sure I agree with this - there’s an extreme mental and physical toil to just defending purely for 90 mins, which is what Arsenal would have ended up doing. Saliba especially looked like he was breathing heavily in the 2nd half. Then you have the factor of one mistake or a handball foul (which is what happened) Arteta had to adjust to give his back 4 at least a little break. Arsenal were crying out for some good old fashioned CF play, hold it up run the channels etc, because you can get at the PSG back 4, unfortunately Gyokeres looked below par at this level and Havertz faded
We're talking about a penalty resulting from putting pressure on a player who got yellow card prior for a throw-in. PSG didn't get "better" they were at the same level the whole game.
Its Ironic because when Arsenal played beautiful football, but didnt get the job done they were shunned the same way they are now for playing unpleasant football to try win more games
if that penalty had been given on Saka's double handball, Arsenal never score and instead park the bus, PSG don't have to spend the rest of the match chasing an equaliser, the shootout never happens and Gabriel is spared his ridicule.
Moral of the story: you can’t sit in a mid block against PSG I wonder why Arteta didn’t just stay in the low block for the second half.
Hmmmm, I'm not sure they were hugely more dangerous in the second half. People talking about arsenal playing anti-football. Yet despite that they created the best chances in the match. And this narrative suggests you can't do this against PSG because if you do you'll concede and it didnt really happen. Arsenal conceded from a penalty while in the low block Arsenal played incredibly well, unfortunately a lot of the fans can't accept that defending is part of football. Bad luck on the penalties and that's really it. Something as simple as the coin toss of both going second and in front of the psg fans probably decided it
Much more dangerous and they needed to score from a penalty 😂.. be real, PSG didn't have answers to Arsenal's block 😅
Without that havertz opening goal we woulda watched haramball get destroyed
