They didnt discharge the pilots. When you flew your missions, you got rotated home to teach new crews how to not get killed, do the war bond tours, and perform other domestic duties. But they can and would drag you over there for another tour if needed as many crews learned

Even if the mission count went up, he’s fulfilled the obligation stated to him when he shipped out. They asked him for 50, he gave 50, he’s owed a way home. Quota only changes for the new people COMING to shift

wow 50 missions thats alot of missions. once my uncle told me that he flew planes in the war and he did 20 missions in 10 years so i think that 50 missions for a young strapping lad like this guy is actually alot of missions, but dont qoute me because i dont know too much abou tmissions.
