Dan's a natural with these "instructional" videos. Credit where it's due. He's a bloke that cuts through the youtube noise and is worth listening to. Nice work mate.
Congratulations to dan and liam on the win with build wars 2.0.
Hoist and engine bay plans 👀 excited to see more of dan soon
I don’t like 4WD’ing. I’m useless at mechanics. I don’t own a 4WD, and yet I love watching these videos.
Maybe a +pos bus bar that terminal is exhausted
3:53 future plans I hear…… 6BT?????????????
Ned makes everything look so easy. I’m jealous.
Onboard air is one of best things to have, the biggest mistake most people make is not having a storage tank.. especially with lockers they constantly unlock.. I am a tight ar5e and was working at Pirtek so put together a really budget setup.. The air con didnt work in my 4 runner and i didnt care if i had none.. so i plumbed up the air con compressor outlet to a old 50 litre shed compressor tank which i removed the motor and compressor and kept the on/off switch which i wired up to the air con compressor clutch which pumps upto pressure then turns clutch off until pressure drops then reengages all off the original 50 litre tank switch.. it also has the pressure safety valve which blows open at 125psi, i lowered the maximum pressure in tank to 80 psi max on the on/off pressure switch It is good because it has 50 litre tank i can inflate 38" tyres as quick as any tyre pump at servo or at home.. and it cost about $50 in parts.. it also can run any air tool.. i even spray painted a car with it in the middle of a paddock 😂
So good to see someone who genuinely understands the concept of mechanical sympathy!
Congrats on build wars🎉 No surprise the Nissan beat the Toyotas 😂
We need a engine bay build and clean up video like sanding and painting and replacing or cleaning old rusted parts 🙏
...lookin' just right amount of over-engineered :D
I’d suggest putting a positive terminal distribution block on that second battery instead of stacking terminals as you’ve done … higher risk of resistance =heat/fire and it looks tidier which is something you’re pretty good at ….another great vid….
Sweet as mate. And 1 of your best installs I reckon. Great thought and execution. And a big congrats on the build war win. That was a great series. Cheers Dan.
Good install apart from soldering that battery lug instead of crimping... good chance of that failing if you do any corrugations.
Gday mate. Just a quick one. You mentioned 120lpm being able to pump up tyres quicker. Tyre valves are the limiting factor being around 65lpm or lower (1.5cfm-2.5cfm). So unless you use a 2way or 4way hose. Pumping up one tyre unfortunately wont be quicker than patty. Love your videos mate.
I’m am Toyota all the way but god I love this build. Every little mod. Being done at the right times tastefully clean. Quickly becoming one of my favourite builds on YouTube. Always excited for what’s next.
Front locker in a Patrol is probably the number 1 best mod to make, after decent tyres. I have a cheapy Autolocker in my GU7 - purchased for $400 and installed myself. Virtually no negatives, the only thing I have to watch out for is reversing uphill on full lock, that will cause binding, do a 4 point turn rather than 3 point on a switchback and the issue is gone.
Decibel test would have been interesting but kinda tested at the end there, you could always buy some sound deadener too and surround it but it seems quiet enough
Good video
