The Chinese Jaecoo 7 was the best selling car in the UK in March 26. Why do buyers love them so much? Is it just because of the bargain price, or the Land Rover looks, or something else? A car for people who have ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ on the kitchen wall
I’ve never understood how if you so much as hold your phone while driving you’re in trouble, yet you can mess around with a touchscreen to your hearts content
Finally, I can afford a car that's been on Harry's Garage. 🙄
If Harry gets to test a Dacia next.. Oh... More average cars please, your knowledgeable perspective is really quite interesting to see, especially in these segments... Iain Tyrrell, Harry Metcalfe and Jay Leno are the custodians of YouTube motoring content in my opinion.
This is why I like this channel, very open minded reviews. Excellent variety as well.
Screens and menus galore are why I'll never buy another new car
The Motability chariot of choice. Hence the sales numbers.
Simple economics, normal peoples wages have been stagnant for far too long and car prices have become astronomical for the ordinary worker.
Majority of public just want a car A-B for a decent price and now refuse to pay £80k-£100k Audi equivalent. £1,400 v £350 a month can’t be ignored! This is why Europe car industry is in trouble
Had to read the notification twice when this came up
I can see why it's so popular. All I worry about is thousands more people driving down the road fiddling about with their screens instead of concentrating on what's ahead...
Look how often Harry's eyes are looking at the screens not the road
Well done for putting this out Harry. Variety in the automotive world keeps it interesting and to get a proper review from a trustworthy YouTuber is important. So people hate EVs, so what, don't buy one or watch the review!
Just in the last few months, you see these everywhere now. Weird how a car brand nobody's heard of has become so popular in such a short amount of time.
Can't wait to hear Harry's take on the Luce
The XJ220 is thinking "really Harry ?" 🤣
In 2012, Clarkson said in 5 years we’d be all driving Chinese cars as a joke. Well the year was exaggerated but in the end, it was correct
The fact that cars are going in this direction is why I no longer want to change my car every 3 years....
Having to take eyes off the road for the touchscreen is not good
I’ve the identical car - 6000mils on it. I was a Land Rover Dealer for many years and now tow a lot with an INEOS Grenadier. I always previously ran 110 defenders before they went monocoque. The Jaecoo is for journeys when it’s just me and I don’t need a 23mpg 3 ton towcar. Harry is right, the suspension could be better, but overall the car is incredible. The way I drive it, it is about 2.5pence per mile on Octopus intelligent go tariff. Unexpectedly, 2/3 of my mileage is on electric because most of the journeys are under 50 miles. I just did a 550 mile drive and on petrol it was achieving 46 miles/ gallon. The only 22:40 warranty issues have been a squeak on the sunroof which needed a bit of grease, and relocation of the aerial to get better DAB reception. Frankly, for the money the car is unbelievable. One thing to mention to any perspective buyers. I got the dealer to swap the original tyres for a set of Goodyear all season tyres and that transforms the ride and handling. Also, reducing the tyre pressure to 33 psi works a treat. Although it’s only two wheel drive, I could not believe how good it was in the snow. At this price point, this car is the future I think.
