The scene where Rachel assumes that her man lived around guns because he was black was another interesting moment in the film. I understand you guys couldn’t cover everything but thought that might’ve been touched. Love the channel!!!
Just heard the “horrible” reveal 🙄 and had to pause to comment. Zendaya’s character never actually hurt anyone so I’m not trippin over that. I was more concerned with the state of her mental health and how tortured her soul must have been to think that a mass shooting was a good idea. Locking a child, disabled or not, in a shed overnight is the most egregious act of the four.
I can’t get over Nick’s INSANE critical eye and knowledge about practically everything! It’s so freaking impressive! 🎉 And Joseph is so great at articulating his thoughts about the movies they cover. Love you both! ❤
Also to note is that Emma was the only person to reflect on her actions and take initiative to make sure something similar doesn’t happen again. Whereas Rachel didn’t even admit to locking that kid in and Charlie never bothered to follow up with the classmate he cyber bullied to make sure he’s doing better.
As a mentally ill person who has a lot of intrusive thoughts.. the way that people are responding to this movie is exactly why we don't reach out.

I feel like this girl also depicts how bullies are often forgiven more quickly/easily than the bullied. The characters who did the bullying forgive themselves while judging Emma for something she didn't even do
I think it is okay to humanize a school shooter. They're human. Seeking to understand/empathize does not mean we are excusing what they've done.
Just left the theatre. Zendaya was amazing! That whole damn wedding gave me mad anxiety though 😂😂😂😂

The fact that you guys said nobody asked her was she OK after she revealed wanting to commit such a horrible act I honestly had a moment of self reflection because I’m one of those people who probably would’ve acted like the maid of honor😅. This was a very thoughtful breakdown of this film. Can’t wait to go see it now.

You're the first people who've actually made me excited to see the film. It doesn't surprise me people are hating on it because the film requires nuance & it's dying skill. I don't know the full context yet, but it seems like a lot of (white) people are angry a Black teen in the South who had access to firearms struggled until she developed critical thinking skills & empathy to walk away from that mindset. Alaina Haim's character is gonna drive me nuts, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing it after your review. Thank you.
