I laughed more than I should have for "the temperature rises".

Honestly if it wasn't for Jeremy's reviews I wouldn't be going to the movies as often as I do. Reviews like these makes me want to go check it out.

As a European I found the premise quite fascinating, and I think you're right in that a US director might not have been able to handle the subject matter quite the same. To me the thing that was frustrating but understandable iwas that everyone focused on what she almost did (which fair I guess), instead of the fact that - despite everything - she *chose not to* go through with it. She wasn't stopped, or caught, or thwarted. Somehow she crawled out of a very difficult mental place all on her own and fully moved on with her life. That's the true testament to who she is, I think.
