actually in the fastest death category the timer doesn't start with the first input from the mouse, but with the start of the world :)
I thought he was going to correct himself but I guess I have too. Fastest death speed-runs start when the world gets loaded in. (Also the person going for this run wasn’t even going for this category)

The death speedrun rules work difrently: the timer starts when the world loads

As an official moderator for the Die% leaderboards, this is 100% incorrect. As a matter of fact, the timer starts upon world load (not first input) for many categories, including RSG on the main leaderboard. As for Die%, this also applies, with timing starting on world load. This is due to the 3 seconds of invincibility the game gives to the player after entering a world. And so, the fastest possible time is 3.000s. It is technically possible to get a time faster than 3s due to lag, but all faster times are rounded up to 3.000s, due to that game mechanic. As for a real 0s speedrun, I remember someone using Arbitrary Code Execution (ACE) with a resource pack, which instantly put them in the credits upon entering a world. Unfortunately, I think the video is not available anymore, I have not been able to find it for a while.
