Wow thank you for the food shame convo. Yes, we are all doing the best we can! That was such a good inspirational convo! π
Pb&j or Oscar Mayer bologna and cheese Wonder bread sandwiches every day for lunch in the 80s and 90s. Still love both today. π
You make the sandwich before using the uncrustable cutter
Make the sandwich and then cut/crimp it. It seemed backwards the way you did it. π
Love the photo book with your photos. Oh my gosh some of the dresses you wore I have made my granddaughters dresses of the same fabric back in the 90's. They were very pricy fabric then and a fabulous brand name........wish I could remember the designer of that pattern. Evonnie looks so much like you it looks like her in the photos early on. Wow............loved this vlog, it was great and so true. β€
The 80s had a bright and noble future, in the 90s society decisively became morally corrupt. I hear from older Americans that the 80s reflected the 50s and the 90s the 60s. My mom also stenciled the boarder of our bedroom walls, in the 80s.
I watch you, because you remind me of my family life β¦ I grew up in the 1970βs through 1980βs β¦ transported to today.
The food guilt is overwhelming, sometimes i wish i could go back to when ignorance was bliss Also hyvee still gives the kids a free slice of cheese, at least in my area
You look SO much like Fletcher in the baby photo at 33:00!
I have vague memories of the 70's and everything seemed dark(or maybe I was just so small) and then I was a kid in the 80's and the world sure brightened up. The 90's were so country- country music, country decor, floral and denim clothes. It lasted briefly into the 2000's but the world changed so drastically very quickly. But then again, I think about how our Grandma's walked down dirt roads to school and were suddenly buying cars for their teenagers to drive down highways. The same brands of food in the 90's had 1/4 the ingredients they do today. Thanks for an another fun video.
Loved seeing your photo album! It was also fun to see how Evonnie and Fletcher look like you. βΊοΈ
In your scrapbook pictures you and Evonnie look so much alike !β€
Oh my yes ! The ravioli and jello ! Yep I fed my children that . We raised our older children before there were cell phones, and I can say thatβs true what you read on TikTok.
Thank you for the nostalgia trip! I was also the oldest and had a whole photo album dedicated to me. The 3rd kid didnβt have any pictures before 5 months. π As a kid, I was a weirdo. Not a fan of a lot of chips, hot dogs, bologna, American cheese, and other normal kids foods. Now, I realize that they were the most processed. Itβs almost like I knew. π
hey girl- Ooh such a great video! Thanks Megan for sharing all this cool stuff!π€ I remember the 90's - born in 1977 and graduated high school in 1996! A lot has changed for sureπ Have a blessed weekendπ₯°
Your daughter looks just like you!!π₯Ήβ€οΈ
I was raising kids in the 90's, so this was interesting / fun to watch. Honestly, I firmly believe that what is most significant is not the particular era in which you are parenting, but whether or not you have an honest, trust-worthy partner, or ... don't. It's so easy to romanticize the past, and while there were definitely some parts that may have been simpler, personally, I was desperately lonely and unsupported. I did my best with the resources available to me, but sometimes I think that if I had had access to online information, support, and friendships, things would have been vastly better in every way. So there's that. And those geese decor pieces, um ... no. Just NO. They were questionable then, hideous now. Heh ...
I loved this video. I think Fletcher looks like you as a kid. π
My mom was a RN in the 90βs, so she worked all of the time. I was ages 5-15 I believe. I spent a lot of time at school & then when I wasnβt at school, I stayed at my great-grandparentβs home a lot. My cousin lived on the same property & we spent a lot of time playing outside in the woods. We also made Kool-aid, potty meat sandwiches, sweet tea, bologna sandwiches, etc. I also had one of those tiny pools that sits up as you fill it with water. When my mom was off, she took us to McDonaldβs, to the New Orleans Zoo/Aquarium, to the beach park in Pascagoula, MS, to the mall in Gautier, MS, etc. My cousin & I also played with Barbies all the time! I have a ton of great memories from the 90βs π
Such a fun 90's inspired video! I wish I could take my kids back to the 90's for a day! Such great memories as a kid- slower paced and family focused! Just an idea for your uncrustables- you can also make them with just Nutella, which are my kids' favorite. I make so many, I could put them together in my sleep!
