The 90s make me think of Home Interior parties, Tupperware parties, Hamburger Helper, Kool-Aid, VHS movie rentals, JCPenney catalog, QVC, layaway, wallpaper borders and so many great memories!
The real 90s kids know it should be called βmargarine momsβ instead of butter moms lol. I feel like all moms had tubs of margarine vs butter back in those days!
Did anyone make it to the end? Wasn't that fun? So glad my mom scrapbooked!
Being from the 50s myself, I can't help but smile when you vlog about the 90s being nostalgic. π«£
Wow! Memory lane! I was born in 1990βthe stencils, fruit kitchen with gingham curtains, beanie babies, soft rose florals in my parents bedroom βΊοΈ, floral couch. I also remember my mom wearing embroidered sweaters over turtlenecks. Youβre rightβI donβt think people took life quite so seriously back then! I remember going to my cousinsβ house and my aunt making a giant pot of boxed Mac n cheese for lunch for all the kids π
That was a cute childhood pic of you. You and your husband should do a Q&A where you talk about your childhoods, going to school, games you played etc and include photos.
OMW! MEGAN! I love this video!! I was a mom in the 90s and I loved it!! It wasn't as stressful as now. The kids wanting to go outside all the time which now is so rare. Truly awesome era! Great video.
How fun about the 90's!! Evonnnie looks SO much like you when you were young!! Too bad you can't remember the 60 and 70's like I can!! I graduated high school in 1976. We celebrate our 50th class reunion in July and our youngest son celebrates his 20th class reunion! What a fun video to see all your memories about the 90's. For me I was working full time outside the home while raising our 2 sons. Not much going on other than being involved with their school and sports activities and working. We didn't have any social media but I always loved getting the magazines and looking at the ways to decorate our home. I couldn't wait to get the new Good Housekeeping or Better Homes & Garden magazines in the mail. Thank you for sharing and it is always so fun to see your beautiful children!! I continue to LOVE your kitchen!! God bless!!
Evonnie amd Fletcher are the absolute image of you!! You with the pigtails could have been a picture of Evonnie! β€
The 1990βs?? That was like last week! Funny how our perspective of time changes as we get older! Love your videos β€
Speaking as someone who had young children in the 80βs I can tell you how to feel what it felt like. Put your phone and laptop away for a couple of weeks. I mean, donβt use it at all, unless to physically phone someone up . Youβll soon get the feel of what life felt like. No constant contact with everyone you know 24/7. Just get on with your life, no needing to film what you do, or cook what looks good. Just live and donβt record any of it.
I was a mom in the 90s. We had 3 boys born on the 80s. We wanted our bedroom to be a safe haven for them. They never went to sleep in our room but would end up there in the middle of the night. Love waking up to snuggle times with them. I would go into my parents room in the night if I woke up scared and can remember daddy pulling back the covers for me to snuggle in with him and mom. We do this now with our grandchildren. We have a king bed and have had 3 at one time lol. They love sleeping with nene and papa. Now they are bigger so papa will take one to a bed and I will have 2 with me β€ I can remember sleeping with my grandmother as well. My grandparents had separate beds. The 90s were great also the 70s was a wonderful time to be a kid. β€
I started school in 1989 and my freshman year of high school was 1999 so I remember the 90s pretty well. My best memory was my aunt working at a wallpaper store. She would let me look through all the books of wallpaper samples and I would pretend I was decorating my own house. I miss the decor from back then.
YouTube is my only social media. I havenβt heard of this βbutter momβ thing. I was a teenager in the β90s, so I remember a lot. The β90s was the beginning of the HUGE low-fat /no-fat crazeβ¦horrible things we were doing to our bodies. Your eggs sound amazing, by the way.
I loved this video. I think Fletcher looks like you as a kid. π
In your scrapbook pictures you and Evonnie look so much alike !β€
I had venetian coffee that was a powder you added to hot water. International Foods was the brand I drank & it was in a small can.
Megan, enjoyed so much! I didnβt get married until I was 35 and had my one only daughter in 1990 at age 39. So, raising our daughter in the 90βs this video was a great memory jogger fir me. Living room in our then house was stenciled, forest green sofa with large pink/ rose flowered print with a little blue throughout! Had a kitchen will apple border wallpaper! Blue gingham wallpaper in the playroom. I sewed matching mother-daughter dresses with an apple print and when my daughter was in kindergarten I went back to teaching preschool and actually wore those dresses! Thanks for stirring up those memories!
I love the pictures you shared at the end, so nostalgic!
Love this β€οΈ there is definitely so much "noise" in today's world...it's exhausting, trying to do everything and be a certain way π© I miss the feeling of the 90's β€οΈ
