i miss the woods behind my old house, it was between a stripmall, a pepsi plant along with a few other industrial buildings, a low income neighborhood and a trailer park. it was legitimately dangerous to walk through for multiple reasons especially as a kid so i always carried a knife and by god it was one of the most beautiful paths ive ever seen and ive been all over Appalachia, it was like a condensed version of the whole region in one crappy hilly spot, abandoned railroad tracks from the 1800's and all. Some of these photos remind me alot of it, lots of trees that had decided to form a prolonged natural dome over sections of the path and mixed with the legitimate feeling (and on occasion reality) of there being a potential fight around the next tree it had me genuinely just thinking about zelda any time i was back there alone or with the boys. I feel like i did more adventuring back there than i ever have on the actual Appalachian trail even though the path really was just a convoluted way for crackheads with warrants to get to biglots without a chance of getting arrested, for hoodlum teenagers like me at the time to commit their daily shenanigans and an area where the homeless liked to set up a tent city all the time because getting in there was just steep and often muddy enough that anyone who cared couldnt really be bothered to run them out. It was another world within a world pure nature surrounded by total industry, you'd think you were somewhere else entirely if you didnt hear the beep beep beep of forklifts alot, it must be them forkbirds from the deep fantasy realm of "Ohio" not as in the meme as in actually Ohio lol

I love the dark and cozy horizontal rain of Oregon in the fall, winter and spring. Feels like Norway looks. People come here with tinted windows and are in a mirror box because too dark and dead giveaway for tourists
