An early morning walk along a river, from the coast to the flowing streams and cascades of Yokko Gorge on the island of Yakushima, Japan. We start this morning at the mouth of the Nagata River, where its water meets the breaking waves of the open ocean. From there we walk through a small coastal neighborhood, a park, and into freshly flooded rice fields on our way to the gorge. I stopped filming for a moment to have a conversation with a local farmer who tends the fields, a very nice fellow. Yokko Gorge is reached on a short path through a mossy forest, and is one of many impressive water features on Yakushima. I was hoping the trail would continue further along the river, but it seems it ends at the cascades and pool. There is a trail that continues up away from the river and into the mountains, but that will have to wait for another time. After I turned the camera off I took a dip in the calm pool next to the cascades, it was very refreshing. I have absolutely beloved this from start to finish. This area of Japan is such a gem. I loved how you captured the reflections in the water so beautifully, and the sounds of the various types of waves was candy to my soul. Being here as the birds wake and the sun rises was a beautiful experience. I was especially find of the huge turtle sculpture. It was charming! Sublime. Really appreciate you sharing these, I loved this one especially. I want to do walking meditations but where I live is very sweltering and ugly and urban. So I do a sitting meditation and really join you on your walk and I get a little merging of sitting and walking meditation, the sounds of the nature, the calm and deliberate pace, it transports me as if I'm walking silently with you. Thank you.
I like that you don't oversaturate nor color correct your videos and they all look natural. Also it's nice you don't turn the camera too quickly, can otherwise make me feel motion sick. The ending drone view was really nice. Wish the ending drone view was longer so could see where you walked all video.
I always wonder at those huge boulders & how they got there. I've seen japanese videos of debris flow with boulders nearly as big as the largest here literally tossed about as if they were made of balsa wood! Good video as always!

I loved all of the details along the way; like the sea turtle sculpture in the park, the reflections of the sky in the rice fields, the bird songs echoing on the narrow tree covered road, the BIG ferns and tall trees ( that looked almost like a scene from Jurassic Park!!) and all of the close up views of the cascades!!!!
