The staff are clearly doing fantastic jobs without enough beds for recovery. Hopefully ppl that go to A&E need it. There’s small injury hospital places . To be honest I only know this because a friend at work told me . I hope it’s better know generally . You do phone first to get an appointment

Couldn’t they have done the operation until waiting for the other patient 😢 This is so sad and is a constant problem they should look at to be resolved! This is just one case, there is probably millions more 😢 I can’t believe it there is staff but there is no beds !!!

A few years back (in Australia) hospital was full, but my appendix was about to rupture. I spent a long night on a gurney in a hallway, went into emergency surgery- and for recovery they found a bed for a few nights for me in the maternity ward 😅 That was an interesting experience. But I'm very grateful!

I guess the good thing about George’s surgery cancellation is that he got jumbo prawns and noodles instead. Gave me a good laugh. RIP George and I hope his wife and family are ok. I lost my dad to cancer less than 2 months after diagnosis. I understand the loss and the pain.

The aneurysm will always take priority if it’s at the point of rupturing. Once the aorta is wide open death is in a second and as a paramedic I’ve seen a few. It’s awful for Simon who has cancer and needs surge but keeps getting cancelled. The stress must be enormous. I live in the US and I’ve never had to have surgery cancelled due to no beds. I’ve never been in the ER for longer than 26 hours waiting for a bed but in NHS countries they can wait for days in the ER and get their surgeries cancelled over and over again. I am scheduled for surgery first thing on Wednesday and it’s the day before Thanksgiving which is a major holiday here and I will be admitted for most likely one night but usually they result in 2 nights. Most people are trying to go home in time for Thanksgiving. This will be my first admission during Thanksgiving and I’ve missed Christmas 3 times since 2016 due to hospitalizations and one for the New Year which was when I missed my first Christmas. I was hospitalized for 29 days from 12/19/16-01/16/17.

Like most public services that are under funded and over capacity, it's the high quality staff that cope with these huge problems on a daily basis, but still manage a quality service. My mum is currently in a hospital with the same demands on it. I have to say, the Dr's and nurses have been amazing. They have fought tooth and nail to save her. 3 weeks down the line, she's still seriously ill and not out of the woods yet. Without these dedicated and professional staff, I fear my mum would've passed by now.

😢for Simon and his wife—I hope they were able to really enjoy those few weeks that they had after his surgery before he became ill.

Hello from Australia. Appreciated you sharing I think the system everywhere is just at capacity and so m any are struggling. Thanks to all doctors, nurses and psa's who work hard to help patients. I was gutterred to hear about Simon and though it might be bad news when they did the last voice over.

Great series just watched the episode with the 3 severely disabled children Jack, Holly and Elsie Jack died, what a blessing, holly has absolutely no quality of life it’s cruel keeping her alive. With Elsie so small they so g know how bad she is until she’s older. I am all for life for disabled children but if they have absolutely no quality of life, it’s just cruel keeping them going
