Be it for nose jobs, hair transplants, or liposuction: Turkey's beauty industry is booming. Medical tourists from abroad are being attracted by clinics and agencies offering low prices. In countries like the UK, the same procedures often cost double, or triple the price. Cases of botched procedures and even deaths are on the rise, though. Victims and their relatives are demanding accountability. 00:00 Intro 01:00 A mother mourns her daughter 02:02 Morgan Ribeiro: The road to plastic surgery 03:59 The beauty industry in Turkey 05:40 A death following plastic surgery 08:06 Sara Platt: Medical malpractice victim 11:06 Turkish beauty industry advertising strategies 14:36 What can patients do? 16:32 A mother's longing for closure #documentary #dwdocumentary #DWstories #Reporter ______ DW Documentary gives you knowledge beyond the headlines. The knock on costs to the NHS are horrendous.
I'm sorry for her pain and passing for the loss to her family, she was a beautiful, sweet young girl.
Thanks for spreading awareness about this. Also it's not just bad complications and deaths but some people have their organs removed in Turkey during cosmetic surgery without their consent.
I feel sorry for your lost Mother Your daughter was so beautiful. ❤❤❤❤
Vanity is killing these women😢. Please Love yourselves 🙏. We are all unique and beautiful in our own natural way. Condolences mama 💐
DW have very informative documentary.
Morgan, eras preciosa. Debiste amarte más tal y como eras. Paz a tu ser. 🕊️
"My daughter deserved to feel confident in her own skin". You mean you would have liked her to feel confident. I am sorry this happened, but no one deserves anything except what they work for and achieve. I think this story tells us all there is no quick, cheap, easy way to anything.
The tragedy is bullies will always find a reason to bully- it’s not about weight, looks, gender, race it is their own insecurities conflicting with their sense of entitlement.
Never go cheap for your body and your health.
Katie Price is a walking advertisement for Turkey Treatments.
15:04 The question her would be.....why isn't the Turkish government cracking down on not certified doctors conducting major surgeries?? Or unlicensed clinics etc. All medical staff should have proper credentials etc. And it's also up to the government to control this.
DW keep raising awareness of this very serious issues!
I’m so sorry that Sarah has gone through this but Sarah you should stand your ground. You are the voice of the girls who were lost❤
that must be so awful,i can easily imagine myself being in this situation,so so painful
It’s not about Turkish surgeons, it’s about going CHEAP. Turkey has numerous great surgeons but they are often ofc expensive and ppl choose to go cheap for something that could kill them, is just mind blowing.
The rep’s reply << patients die here as well >> . As a medical professional, this reply is baffling to me!
That first girl broke my heart, she is such a beautiful young woman. My heart goes out to her mom.
That ladt sentence broke my heart..😢 Rest in peace Morgan. My heart is with you and yours.
Condolences to the family. Hopefully, everyone can get justice.
