Sometimes it is essential to have to clip the horses feathers because sometimes if you do not click them and mud sits on them for a little too long they could get muds scold😮

This only applies if your horse stays outside permanently and isn't used for sports. Outside of that you're perfectly fine to trim it.

people always shave them off for some reason.. specifically on a lot of show horses, i get it if they have mites or something but.. i don’t see why else. I like the look of them.

Ну вообще-то стричь лучше. Особенно если лошадь много гуляет. Скопление влаги и грязи в щётках приводит к появлению проблем. К примеру потёртости и мокрецы. У лошадей изначально почти нет щёток. Это человек их вывел с густыми щётками. Так что щётки не являются чем-то естесственным.

Actually, on draft horses like Shires or Clydesdales, you should trim the feathering if you have muddy parts in the pasture. Mud can cake on and trap moisture and bacteria against the skin and this causes mud fever, baterial or fungal infections
