I feel like the Critical Arts are specifically designed with the KO screen in mind. They're losing a lot of panache because we're in training mode.
17:12 For Viper I think her level 3 is leaning into the fact that she’s punching above her weight class with her gear since she’s the only character without natural ki control
I was actually hoping that Terry would get his CotW cinematic super as his SF6 Level 3, but I’m more than happy with what we got instead.
dear lord. Akuma on that Dee Jay stage makes him look like hes green screened in there lol
Alex's level 3 supers are at their best when you actually use it in a match, because of how it transitions to a unique win pose which transitions directly into his win screen
Ngl I think Aki’s level 3 is pretty much a fatality man like could you imagine if aki was actually in mortal kombat?
Ingrid is able to perform Sun Octopus by the player! Similar to unlocking Shin Akuma and Boss M.Bison, you perform her Monoid taunt (back taunt). Wait a couple of seconds and the Monoid will start bouncing, The moment Ingrid re-appears on the screen, press 2 neutral taunts and a back taunt in quick succession (before she hi-fives the Monoid). She'll absorb the Monoid and turn into her boss mode version. (she also gains max meter and sun stocks) Sun Octopus is half-circle forward->up-forward with LK+MK and costs 2 bars (412369 in numpad notation) She also gains 2 new special moves! Double quarter-circle back + any kick is a forward thrust where she strikes the same pose as her SFA3 win screen art (it also INSTANTLY puts the opponent in burnout) Double-down + all 3 punches is a full-screen beam that has a slow startup but massive damage it's a shame this video was made just moments before this was all discovered LOL
21:06 There is an exclusive Dark Ingrid super. No idea how to play as her (yet), but in WT and Avatar Arcade, she gets a super where she descends from the heavens as an angel.
SF6 has to have one of the most menacing looking Akuma’s ever, which is ironic because I’m pretty sure he’s a bit more chill in World Tour mode (correct me if wrong)
Glad you covered the secret boss supers
The thing I love about Akuma's Lv 3 is that it looks like he's referencing the Akumart image drawn by Udon. Taking a hilarious image and making it look imposing.
15:30 the thing I love the most about Sagat's super is how you notice they did their homework on Muay Thai. One of the first ever techniques they taught me was that hitting (usually) 3 good kicks to a single leg will make it go numb.
Bison's Psycho Punisher end pose is also a reference to Hokuto No Ken (spoilers for those who never got to see the anime or play the three goated games) when Raoh holds Rei up after striking one of his fatal vital points.
I'd argue that a lot of CAs lose impact when they don't finish the round
I think the idea with Viper's level 3 is that she was planning on taking a hit, because it puts her opponent in a position where she can grab them and finish them off
6:20. THANK YOU! The 6 one is still dope. But something about 5 just hits soooooooo much harder
Ingrid's critical art really does say "taste the sparkles"
"Viper has never struck me as a character who'd take a hit" He says about the Focus Attack Capcom rep, you know, the mechanic about tanking one hit
The Fact that in Ingrid's Level 3 she gives the opponent her powers and then completely stunt on them is the most distrespectful shit ever. Personally it's a 10/10 for me.
Really happy with how they channeled Terrys inner florida man with his critical art. Like launching himself into the air with a power geyser and then superman punching the poor soul mid air and blasting them into kingdom come is the type of ridiculous id expect from Terry
