That must be one helluva tracking device to work from inside a cast iron structure.

I used to work at a scrap yard. There were some things we wouldn't buy without a number we could call to verify. Only people from a cemetery could sell vases or the brass markers.

Trying to steal a fire hydrant is one of the few things that could motivate me to attack someone.

In rural UK fire engines can pump water from a nearby pond. I know of one case where a newcomer who had bought a big thatched property arrogantly filled in the public pond outside his house. One day his house caught fire. The firemen were unable to find the pond so his house burnt down. Note: special baskets are woven to go over the end of the hose to stop weed from entering it. Afterwards they are thrown away.

What always cracks me up is the "come on, man..." I genuinely don't know what they think that line is supposed to do. lol Used to hear it all the time from inmates back when I worked corrections. Just something silly about a grown man getting caught doing something stupid and going "come on, maaaaan," like that's supposed to convince anyone. lol

I really hate that fireman don’t have more power than they do because they are the ones who are risking our lives so we don’t die in a fire

I live in a small town of Southeast Kentucky. When I worked with the division of forestry, we would go around to different hydrants to real fill our truck. And it is amazed me how many decoy fire hydrants are out there. They exist

Fire departments could afford things if cops weren't getting 2/3 of every city budget.

If theres not enough funding, you should investigate your politicians and check his friends around him.

When materials like this go missing, scrap yards are the FIRST place you check.
