It's incredibly cool and purpose built, but in order to get it running and looking good, it will need quite a bit of work. But I think it could be an amazing daily driver. lol fake taxi 😂
When Matt Armstrong comes to Florida, pick him up with this. Will be a laugh.😅😅😅
London cabbie here, love to see this! Notoriously slow, as we're the TX1s that followed with the bulletproof Nissan engine. Turning circle is still part of our 'conditions of fitness' which is vehicle specific legislation all taxis have to fulfil to be licensed. Those fairways were also meticulously maintained because every year every single cab in London is inspected to make sure it is for purpose, and those fairways were inspected at the 'yard' by the brown coats who would fail them for the smallest of infractions. No more fairways operate as taxis as we have an age limit on the vehicle in London so no cab can be older than 15 years.
Somehow this old taxi has more personality than half the new cars on sale today!
Screw the P1, time to LS swap the hackney carriage.
classic London taxis manufactured by LTI and Carbodies feature wooden floorboards integrated with their steel chassis. While the structural chassis and main body framing are made of steel, the floor skin itself relies heavily on marine-grade plywood or timber boards. This design element dates back to the classic Austin FX4 and was carried forward through later models like the Fairway, TX1, and TX2 to allow easy access for underfloor mechanical repairs. For example, on the LTI Fairway, removing the under-seat and central floorboards gives mechanics direct access to the gearbox, transmission, and chassis components.

Needs to be a lowrider, nice wrap or paint. Also m57 swap with 8hp
Fun fact, the rear heater intake is under the drivers seat . . . So when you get a real bad fart you can crop dust the rear then keep your foot on the brake so they cant get out 😅
That Nissan engine is a racing car compared to what it replaced, a BMC 2.25 litre diesel. 50mph flat out.
That thing needs air suspension and an LS swap
Shine a black light on the interior, for science! Yea.
Steven Fry did cross the US in such a cab. So sure you can do it even better ;)
the turning radius is already crazy. make it a drift cab
Engine swap, suspension, and brake replacement. Make it a complete sleeper. 🖤👊
Make it super nice, and you can hire yourself out for a prom! I bet you would make some big money… ❤
Rex did a phenomenal job cleaning that cab up, props to him..
