For those wondering, the carbon fiber itself was not cracked, the thick clear coat protecting the fiber was. Carbon fibre will flex, the resin encapsulates the fibers and give it shape. The resin may crack while the fibers stay intact. In the case the top layer of clear coat beyond the resin and fibers is what cracked. Its no different than bending dry paint, it snaps. Carbon fiber bends and flexes way more than clear coat, which means even though the resin and fibers will sustain heavy loads, the sheen will snap under pressure. Not the MOST expensive fix, still a VERY expensive fix depending on how it was made. It can range between a couple hundred and it just requires a resand and recoat to a couple thousand or even a full replacement (again depends on how it was manufactured). Either way, NEVER TOUCH SOMEONE ELSE'S THINGS WITHOUT PERMISSION. Some people weren't beat for bad manners as a kid and it shows.

The photographer should had asked first. I understand, it's a car show, take as much pictures or film. But when my family and I go, we usually start off with a conversation with the owner, complimenting their car and ask if we can take a couple pictures or film the interior.
