Is the timing chain retro fittable to earlier 2.0 ltr engines?
I recently bought a new (to me) ute for work. I had the option to go new, but there is not one vehicle in the last 10 years I’d touch for a work ute. Absolute pieces of junk that do nothing but make me feel very insecure. I got a 2012 hilux 3.0. I also have a gu patrol with the 3.0 which I would trust more than any of these new barges, and that’s saying something.
Everything around the engine is pulsating, very strange. The Rang - er.
3 years with biturbo now. Not a single issue. Will replace the belts before the 5 year warranty expiry. Where's the problem ?
It’s sad to see that Car sauce never mentioned wet timing belt issues once in their Everest and Ranger reviews. I have lost faith in their reviews..
It has a WET OIL PUMP BELT also found in 2.7 Ecoboost 2nd gen (2018) 5.0 Coyote 4th gen (2024)
V6 has issues too
Ford has the most amount of recalls out of all the auto companies, thank you for allowing us mechanics to stay in business, i'd never own one. The 4.0l straight 6 was the best thing you guys ever made, everything else dog*hit
Ugh so the U.S. is going to go from a pretty reliable truck with the 2.3l to a 2.0 from the bronco sport. The 2.0 has turbo issues, trans issues and terrible build quality. Good luck
Just getting it out there. I wouldn’t buy a 2L ranger but all the ppl in the comments saying how a shark is a good replacement for a proper turbo diesel powered Ute are crazy. All a shark is good for is zipping around fast with no reliability and minimal utility value. Waste of aerodynamics and space all for ego 😂
Didn't the bi turbo have a 10 speed auto.
Except for the Ranger, Everest and the Transit what other fords do they sell in Australia. But given there reliability i will stay with the DMax
Looks like it will be back to Hilux, can't justify the cost of the v6
Review the new Volvo EX60 !! a bunch of Aussie creators like Carsales have already had a crack at it but honestly I wanna hear what you guys think. Your reviews are way more entertaining, less corporate and usually say the stuff everyone’s actually thinking
Same car, same issue.
Ford is definitely the driver’s car. They are the most fun or you feel connected to the road. Drive a little Puma versus every other micro SUV and the Puma is just miles ahead in driver connection. Ford just somehow does it with all their cars. They just need to get the rest of their reputation repaired by finally releasing tough reliable cars.
So Ford have admitted that a wet timing belt was a problem. Anyone that understands engineering and oil and rubber knew that the wet belt was a disaster.
Carbon dioxide restrictions by Regulation are really $tup1D and unnecessary
Members of class actions concerning the 10 speed auto may disagree with your assessment of the gearbox
