You would have thought for the massive amount of money they charged that they might have fitted the side light properly so it didn't swivel .
So far just normal Maintenance.
I have had two Morgan Plus 8's, the first one in 1978, they need to be used regularly, even if it's only for twenty miles or so. Nice video.
When a Morgan specialist sees a Morgan brought in for work, they know they can begin planning their Caribbean holiday for the entire Family..
Enjoyed this one start to finish..
Little Hallingbury is and always has been in ESSEX
You were shafted
Bet the seller couldn't believe his luck getting rid of that
In no way at all am I a petrolhead, but a brilliant look at very skilled people doing what they know all about.
Friend of mine had a brand new Plus 4. Exciting to drive if you had the skill (he didn't) but archaic and uncomfortable to drive. Cold, lumpy, leaky, unsophisticated, impractical, handles like a cart horse, had the turning circle of Yorskshire and piss poor even for the 1980s. It was like driving a miniature, souped-up Bedford bus.
I don't see how it comes to that cost for repairs? and specially parts, It's about maximum 500£ AND labor 1400£ what you showed us anyway
Port winglight is taking a holiday at 27:24. The cracks in the wings are because someone has likely put competition rated stiffness springs on it. It also explains the 25k miles. Every speed shot you can see the front shaking rapidly on uneven surfaces. I'm surprised the Morgan mechanics didn't change to stock springs when they did the struts.
You would think for that horrendous labour charge the nearside sidelight on top of the wing would have been tightened (27.24)...🙄 The gel cracked wings should have been repaired with tissue and polyester resin - slapping on filler is a cowboy job and the cracks will come back through the filler in a short time with that body flex.
Ihave the same car but the 4.0,when its good its brilliant, when its bad its a pain in the botty
when these cars go away then repairers to tend to rub their hands together knowing a no limit repair is a good pay day,or is it me,?
Its hilarious reading comments from people who think service from a marque specialist working on a neglected vehicle is too expensive. They seem to be under the impression that a Morgan should cost the same as a Ford or Vauxhall being serviced a Halfords!
Non vented front discs and rear drums? Sounds like my 1968 1.3 Cortina.
not diamond at all its ceramic! ive machined them with hss!
Getting into and out of a Morgan shouldn’t be a problem. I watched Mr Peter Morgan do it at the factory 5 days a week until was about 83 years old. A good honest employer who was always fair with his staff. It’s a great shame the company fell into the hands of some very dodgy management who helped themselves to anything that wasn’t nailed down. Eventually they got the boot and the company was able to move forward and is doing much better.
8m30s in : The brake system does not use Glycol - that's for the cooling system!. DO NOT put Glycol in your brake master cylinder. Serious quality failure here guys.
