All tho this monster is scary asl and really cool,I really wish that the bacteria monster was the main monster ngl😕
i think the doors open because people hate the "world" like it feeds on desire
Reminder: Kane started this series before the major LLM spike so I don’t think that he’s referencing AI here
8:32 I saw the movie more as being an allegory for Clark's narcissistic behavior. But then again, ai affirms that exact behavior so it could be both.
I don't know what to say about Clark's monster. I mean, think about it. At the beginning of the movie, the entity attacks a corporate worker, and in the footage you can see very little of the entity but it's clear that it doesn't look at all like the Clark monster. Then we have a drawing of the entity when Clark is choking the psychologist. And the entity in the drawing is the closest version of the bacteria that we have. And when Clark was trapped in the room, when the entity lifted the camera up, something happened to him. I assume that then the entity in its original form changed its appearance to Clark and did something to Clark to make him go crazy. Like he went crazy right after that sequence.
Amazing alegory, really liked the comparison to AI and you gave me hope for the bacteria monster
At the end about how you said the backrooms and AI are almost the same, that was really well put together! You just got a sub!
My theory is that the monster embodies all of Clark's worst attributes, and because Clark doesn't want to change, he's ultimately devoured by them. It also pulls double duty by representing Mary's repressed trauma about her mother, that's why it looks scared and overbearing. And Mary was able to overcome by letting her trauma go.
6:18 Bro i had the same idea LMAO.
9,5/10 since i hoped that the original monster was gonna be there. everything else - PERFECT! also my theory is the backrooms kept copying clark and other humans so many times until it ended like it is (got it from your callout about how the monsters legs look like clarks)
What I love is that the Pirate Clark only comes out after Clark says sorry, right after Clark is finally able to change, even in a small way
i think i have a idea on the lifeforms being different, i think, that in 1990 the backrooms DID NOT know about bacteria, microscopic life and other things, but, by the time of 1996, the lifeform we see is it's first infection, and, it COULD be theorized that the lifeform is a fully infected clark after he died.
I think the bacteria monsters are still lives that have been remembered over and over again . The more times the backrooms remember something , the less it looks like the original.
I think pirate Clark is the manifestation of the monster within Clark and when Clark comes to terms with his self and accepts his monster within and doesn’t want to change, he let the monster within consume him
In my interpretation the reason why monster Clark (his version based on the "memory" of the backrooms) devours real Clark is because that is the moment where real Clark learns about his flaws and openly rejects the idea of changing, as he says, he wants to stay where he is as he is. Clark and all he could have been are devoured by the memory of who he was/is, a fate he chose bc it was more comfortable than change
I believe it's impossible for this movie to be a prequel. For the reasons you've stated as well as I believe the events of the movie are the furthest events we have on the timeline of what was happening in the early 1990s. We also know that the version of ASYNC we see in the movie is if I remember correctly the latest time we've seen them because I believe they're absent from all other parts of the series after the movie. (I could be wrong.)
I think the clark copy eating Clark is him interpreting what Clark said. He says right before “we don’t have to change” the monster has been eating and killing people and embodies Clark’s aggression. So Clark is literally telling him to go back to his old ways so he eats Clark.
I think the whole deal with the monster eating Clark might be the other way around. The Clark still life is used to eating the other still lives as they do not care. Clark sees this and replicates the behavior
I find it strange that for a movie with its monsters presented as we've seen before, yet we are introduced to a completely different entity.
my theory for why the Bobby was attacked is that because the monster was trying to imitate Clark by pulling the rope like Clark was (which accidentally kills him ). Later on when monster catches up to Clark it picks up the camera, which it does because Clark was carrying it around moments prior
