The movie specifies that the kid was a girl. "she wasn't scared of you?! she was only 6!" So it was either Sid's little sister, or an entirely unrelated girl.

Keep in mind, the monster's partner mentions that the kid was a six year old girl. So if that is in fact Sid's room, the child he was attempting to scare was his little sister.

My whole life since I was younger I always assumed without even seeing that poster that it was Sid the one that scared the monster away since at the time, the only mean kid that I knew the most in disney movies was Sid Phillips from Toy Story. I mean, I wasnt too wrong for assuming, was I? He breaks and tortures toys for fun, he is mean to his sister, he even handles a lot of dangeorus material like explosives. His room from the toys' perspective look like something straight out of a SAW movie or something. What shocks me the most of this now is that I never in my life think that would actually be the case and I would be right this whole time unintentionally. That monster sure had something to fear from that kid, and I don't blame him.
