In 1943, the legendary Nicholas Brothers performed a jaw-dropping tap dance routine so incredible that Fred Astaire later called it โthe greatest movie musical numberโ he had ever seen ๐ฌ๐ฅ The entire performance was done without stunt doubles, including the iconic staircase leap โ completed perfectly on the very first take. One of the greatest moments in classic Hollywood history. #NicholasBrothers #FredAstaire #TapDance #ClassicHollywood #OldHollywood #DanceLegend #MovieHistory #VintageCinema #Shorts #LegendaryPerformance

In der Kindheit mussten wir es ansehen, heute bin ich froh darรผber ๐
My black brothers and sisters are so talented!
Bro batman get out of the shot
And Tommy Tune & Fred & Gene & especially Cagney
These brothers are fantastic. Thankfully a few movie clips survived to show the outrageous athleticism and lightening fast moves.
And yet white society shamed them and wouldnt allow them to drink from fountains, or eat in a restaurant, or be a human....
As a kid I saw this on TCM and actually asked my dad was this real. He replied that it was โreal talentโ. In a thirty second span I was amazed by the Nicholas Brothers then horrified that dad humor knows no shame. I still am cringing.
I still prefer Fred and Ginger. I can't see people renaming their staircase.
Fantastic, well done. ๐๐
The movie is Stormy weather? I thought it was in b&w
Iโve seen the Nicholas brothers in another video of them dancing, theyโre incredible! But it took me FOREVER to find any information about them. Itโs a shame that they arenโt well known.
And somehow my intermediate level tap teacher was like "yeah these guys can replicate that." We could not.
They were the first to do the Moon Walk.
Get Emโ girls!!!
These guys were fabulous; I got blown away the first time I watched them in a film. Spectacular!
They were fabulous!!!
