The "no no no" reminds me of that scene from Get Out.
You can tell by her facial expressions that the real Nikki is trying to break out of the spell, but the spell itself is preventing her from breaking it and is forcing her to do the very thing that Bear wished for her to do , which is really sad because you can see in her face that she's in pain. Not just physical pain but emotional pain, like she's trapped in a nightmare that she can't wake up from.
Dude should have just wished for the ability to tell her how he felt.
Dude, wtf... I'm already creeped out, and this is just a 90 second clip. Both actors are on point, and the music too!
"Yeah bro I want a yandere gf so badly!" Mfs been real quiet since this dropped
her acting is astounding???? what a gem curry barker found omg
So I have a theory about her, pausing in between her answers. I think that this spell over her is leaving her fully aware of what’s happening, and yet she physically and emotionally can’t seem to break out of it herself. Like she’s trapped inside of her own body. Everything about her performance screams pain.
This scene was on our last day of filming principal photography. We shot it at an Italian place in north Hollywood from 3am-11am when the restaurant was closed. We all celebrated finishing filming across the street at Idle Hour for our wrap party. It was so fun, we had so much fun making this movie and our crew still has a group chat from it. I’m Casey Schoch, I was the 1st AC in camera. We’ve all been so excited about how much this movie has blown up/gotten acquired/etc since we shot it in Oct/Nov 2024 and pickups in Summer 2025. Love this cast and crew
Keep the controller dawg this is all you
Bro she's crushing it. How is she so gorgeous and unsettling at the same time?
0:17 With the way she answers questions it's like the real nicki is still conscious but she can't break out of it, look at the way her eyes darted off and she immediately laid her head after answering.
“Did your dad really have cancer?” “Who the f*** starts a conversation like that? I just sat down!”
I seen this movie at a film festival a few weeks ago & it delivered so hard. The entire theatre was roaring. You guys are in for a treat
0:37 This is the moment Nikki realizes she’s not in control of her life. She wants to change the subject because it’s literally destroying her brain to comprehend it. Edit: The Wish is trying to trick her brain into thinking this is what she wants, until eventually it’s completely consumed her. But Bear’s constant mixed messaging is hurrying the process of ruining her sanity. She may be completely under the spell, fully lucid, or a mix of the two at different points of the movie
This will teach me so many lessons in what to not look for in a relationship Edit: After watching the movie, the movie more so taught me about who I should be as a person before going into a relationship, not who someone else already is. If you are mentally healthy before entering a relationship, you’ll attract the right person.
Inde Navarrette is a treasure!!! Oscar-worthy performance 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This reminds me of that episode from the animated Hercules series. Hercules can't find a date for prom, so he sculpts the perfect girl out of clay and asks Aphrodite to bring her to life. The goddess names her Galatea. Hercules then designs her entire personality to be utterly obsessed with him, and she acts exactly like the girl in this scene. The name of that episode is called "Hercules and the Dream Date" if anyone is wondering.
0:43 OMG ,that's so creepy. 😮 the way she's saying "No" repeatedly ,really creeps me out so much.
Inde Navarrette was amazing. Oscar worthy performance imo.
I was lucky enough to see this movie at an early showing in Philly a couple weeks ago, and if you guys thought this scene was creepy, you're not prepared for just how terrifying this movie, and specifically Inde Navarrette's performance, gets. I honestly believe that Navarette doesn't just give an incredible performance; she gives a performance that should give her an Oscar at next year's ceremony. I don't think I'm going to see a better performance by anyone in anything else this year.
