Long time no see! It's been a minute, but after some really exciting life events, I am back to making content (and hopefully at a higher volume!) It's time to take on the Summer Tournament in Tokyo. We look to overwhelm with our strong power at the plate and hold the line with the 3 headed monster on the mound. Also, I launched a Substack! Being a writer and critic is a big part of where MarcWearsHats came from, as an outlet to talk about (Japanese) pop culture in addition to sports gaming. All of my writing will be posted there, no subscription required. marcwearshats.substack.com With the real-time clock ticking towards July 16 and the worldwide release of eBaseball: Pro Spirit 2026, this super-sized episode looks to get us closer to the goal of winning Koshien! Welcome back and congrats on the house ! 1. No problem on the sprinting tip - more runs for Kurogane 🫡 2. You actually got a 3-2 count this video! But sadly we will get GTA6 before Marc draws a walk or pitches a walk in this game 😅 3. To my knowledge, no season limit in high school mode or season (franchise) mode. The only mode that has limit is 30 seasons in star player (RTTS equivalent) 4. Tough loss there but it’s nice that the game presents such a challenge … I love how you can just stomp bad teams but teams with A and S rated hitters … they will score runs ! Seems much more realistic to what I imagine is a huge variability in real life high school teams. Versus other sports games where every team is rated like 75 to 85 and anyone can beat anyone really. Also going from A rated down to D - rough 😮 5. Reference the person who said the game seems easy. There’s a ton of variability in the main game to tweak difficulty - all the way up to real life pitch speed. I’ve definitely played games in the free version where the CPU pitcher absolutely ties me up … and I’m not even close to on higher difficulty level. The high school mode has fewer difficulty options but also don’t believe Marc is on the highest one. Certain other things can be adjusted too to make it more challenging … for example Marc throws probably 90% strikes as a pitcher … because he can set the cursor exactly to the corners. One thing I’ve enjoyed in the real game is locking the cursor so you need to go by “feel” of your pitches … maybe you move it too far outside and it’s a ball … maybe you don’t get the ball far enough out and it’s over the heart of the plate … much more realistic and does make pitching harder than just setting the target to be exactly painting corners all day … 6. I love the variability in this mode and how “big games” feel big. Small scale games are empty stadiums or on a backwoods field … then you get to packed stadiums with full bands and commentary added for deep in tournaments … really helps build the moment imo !
