You've got people giving you advice on things to try and improve your cooking, I'm always trying to improve the way I do things! The diversity of commenters is really helpful. What works for one may not work for another, or it may totally change the way they approach things. You should be highly commended for giving your daughter the opportunity to try new things but also the trust she has in you to try different and exoerimental foods. A lot of parents may struggle to get their children to eat anything other than chicken nuggets! Well done to both of you for such an informative episode!

my great grandfather used to keep pigs in the early 1900 s They say that you can eat everything but the squeak. I remember my grandmother cooking pigs trotters circa 1960s but they were whole and they were bobbing up and down in the big saucepan. I can still visualise them to this day. I have never tried them though they would have been for my grandfather. It's all very traditional old school which I am all for, and nice to see you cooking with your daughter. Well done again WW

Can I recommend for that egg fried rice really fry the rice so it sticks to the bottom a bit , it gives it a really nutty flavour and a really nice texture then add the rest back to it and the egg over one side of pan then add it into the mixture just as it’s turning into scrambled egg. It’s not all soft and I prefer that, but I do love soft rice too.
Also! Next time you want to play with dumplings, you can mix up your own sauces to your own tastes. A very typical mixture can be made from a few mils each of chinese black vinegar and soy sauce. If you want to embellish, you can add shredded fresh ginger, a wee splash of sesame oil, or even chile oil. It doesn't necessarily stop there - it's easily customized. Fresh crushed or finely chopped garlic, thinly sliced scallions (spring onions), sesame seeds or paste ... If it's a type of eating you enjoy, the base elements of vinegar and soy sauce are inexpensive to stock, compared to buying a sauce with one flavor profile. And you can work from there. The way I've seen the blood curds served is added to soups, like a noodle soup with other elements.
This was absolute so so fun! Next you guys will have to practice with chopsticks for when you go to Asia! If you already know how, please ignore me, but if you do want to learn a lot of the Asian markets sell practice chopsticks for kiddos that help you get a feel for how to hold them. There’s also different ways to hold depending on the country or even the area in the same country. Learn however works best for you!
i have only watched the WW2 meals so i will now explore the back catalogue, very nice to meet the family finally someone else that hasnt tried Korean BBQ, in saying that i brought a very small box of wings last sat so small i hardly tasted the chicken and very expensive the sauce was delicouse
Even though Im vegan, I appreciate that you are mindful to make the most use out of the whole animal. I know my lifestyle isnt doable for everyone but always appreciate when they are mindful of where it comes from/most use from the animals life. I really enjoyed watching you and your daughter planning and cooking throughout the challenge it was so wholesome!
