In 2023, the north-eastern Indian state of Manipur was torn apart by ethnic violence between Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities. Since then, more than 260 people have been killed, tens of thousands displaced, and entire neighbourhoods divided by buffer zones and security checkpoints. In April, fresh violence reignited the crisis. From the killing of two children in a devastating blast, to protests led by women demanding justice, to the way rumours fuel violence, BBC correspondents Raghvendra Rao and Devashish Kumar report from the ground, capturing grief that refuses to fade and a conflict that continues to shape everyday life, three years on. Modi is more concerned with Cockroaches Party, Beef consumers, Foreign trips while his country is burning.. This is because the main target who suffer were not Hindus and they are mainly Christians.
As a Chinese person, I sympathize with the plight of the people of Manipur. Northeast Indians and Chinese people look similar, creating a natural sense of kinship, and they are much more attractive than the brown-skinned people of mainland India. If Manipur were to enact its own state legislation, bypassing the Indian government to do business with China, its economy could develop better, and its infrastructure could be upgraded. Ethnic minorities in China, such as Tibetans, receive better welfare benefits than the Han Chinese. Not long ago, a highway opened in Tibet; I welcome my fellow East Asian compatriots from Northeast Feders to visit and see a prosperous China today.
They won't show you this in indian media.
