A new documentary, “Fork in the Road,” explores how U.S. farmers are squeezed by America’s industrial agricultural system — while also highlighting examples of small producers who succeed through reinvention. “I’m the queen of the pivot, and we pivot a lot,” Carilynn Coombs tells NewsNation. Her dairy farm overcame a corporate pullout by transitioning into a direct‑to‑consumer operation. #Farming #Agriculture #Entertainment Get a fast-paced look at the latest from the border to Main Street to the White House on "NewsNation Live." Why isn't there a link in the description to the actual documentary or website to buy it? I got several different versions for a search of "Fork in the Road documentary" so I have no idea which one might be the right one, if there is a DVD available for it yet. I imagine a website link would be minimal.
Thank you for having us!
The agriculture conglomerates are more to blame than the war. They set the prices that farmers pay for equipment and seed and supplies. Then when the farmers sell their product, they set the prices for grain, cattle prices, etc. The farmers profit margins are slim. This is not unlike when mining companies had towns that the workers lived in. They earned money from the companies but then had to pay the company for housing, clothes, food, etc. because the company owned the houses and the stores. When ag companies merged over the decades, they eliminated competition and gained the power, to dictate everything from production to retail, to increase their profit margin on the backs of the farmers and the consumers.
Thank you for this video!
All Americans should have learned to grow their own food and hunt and how to clean and deer, chickens, cows and ect
BS
Hey farmers: Quit buying chickens from Tyson & seeds from Monsanto then complaining about their evil practices! Nobody's forcing you to do that. Go apply for patents for your seeds and other inventions like these corporations do, then sue them when they violate the patent due to DNA drift or whatever. You might not beat them at their own game, but if you don't even try, you're doomed (and so are the rest of us).
The economy isn't good it's terrible wild and crazy the inflation cost everything higher prices that we can't afford were poor not rich like the celebrities
Maybe farmers should stop voting Republican thinking the subsidies will be greater.. you made this bed, so lay in it now.
Make America Great Again 🇺🇸
yep. Real small farmers, the disabled, the elderly they ate purpisely trying to forclose and steal our labds fatms abd homes brcause of a situation the rich technocrats unconstitutional atristocrats and pollitical parties all caused. Deffend your local farms from forclosure vultures or you will really have no food soon. The hypocrits aren't really supporting real small sustainable farms at all. USDA & FDA just fine people and threaten to close things down rather than help. There are no programs to wave mortgages. The grabts go straight to fake small farms which are actually owned by rich people's kids in major agriculture, NOT hobby small farmers focused on permaculture, rural support & self sustainability like yhey should be. Small Farm beurocracy & fees are insanely opressive & hatmful, while no tegulations are curbing vig corpiraye farms from harming the world.
God bless ALL Farmers🙏
