Hard to find a server or a bartender these days that dont expect a tip on everything. Covid destroyed the service industry. Edit: I agree it was the people and not covid itself. But i swear people got worse during and post covid. We also lost out on a lot of hiring and training. Service industry has a high turnover rate, and the lack of hiring and training during that time left us with gaps. A lot of seniors just got tired of the hood rich mfks, and quit.
Every time i see humanity like this i cry because the kid in me wants the world to be like that , the grown me knows how dark is the world and people

This kinda happened to me once as a server... Afamily of 16 came into famous Dave's, they took 6 out of my 7 tables. Were there for over 3 hours ... Constantly asking for this n that.... I served them fine. They left me $3.... I was so upset cuz made nothing.. 2 women asked if I cld serve them even though they were in the bar. I made them some dessert alcohol drinks. 2. When they were leaving she winked and and mouthed - this is for u from us and that for them... She left me $120 tip.....a hundred n a 50. The bill was 32bux... I never saw her agIn but was so thankful. There r Nice people out there ... 😊
My wife used to tend bar for parties and weddings , she would put out a sign that says "ten percent of tips go to the cancer society " she would regularly make over five hundred bucks just for a few hours work .
She is absolutely kind and amazing.
