007 First Light reviewed by Luke Reilly on PlayStation 5. Also available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. "While it’s impossible to argue that 007 First Light shares the seismic importance of 1997’s GoldenEye 007, it is nonetheless the best Bond game I’ve ever played. Demonstrably obsessed with bringing the Bond fantasy to life in a way no game has ever managed before, developer IO Interactive has found a highly successful home for the more curated action-stealth formula of 2012’s Hitman: Absolution. Patiently paced, First Light is brimming with Bond’s trinity of gadgets, guns, and girls in a way that feels fresh but reverent, and never like parody. The evolution of this risky, young Bond over the course of the story also feels logical and earned, to the point where the final moments before the credits left me literally cheering at the screen. Take a bow, IO, and put your clothes on – because I’m buying you all an ice cream."

This Game is a blend of Uncharted, Watch Dogs and Hitman. And I'm not complaining a bit. It's an Amazing game and Must play for every PS5 users. 9/10 is well deserved score for this game.

I know there are goldeneye fans but let's be real this is the closest to a james bond movie
as soon as i heard the accent I knew this would be a legit non BS review
Was worried there wouldn't be a review for a second there. This was well articulated and 007 First Light is definitely my GOTY by leagues.
Bond game we all deserves
Luke is the only reviewer at IGN I trust. You know he's just saying what he thinks rather than worrying what others might think of his review.
They gave it a 9
We only watch the reviews if Luke is the one doing it. Keep it up man
Couple hints as you liked doing the throw weapon to disarm finisher :) - You can always throw the gun by aiming and pressing Triangle/Y - You can shoot enemies on the knees (if the leg is not armored) to leave them vulnerable to a finisher disarm - You can shoot enemies weapons off their hands (if the arm is not armored) and pick the firearm from the air or do a finisher to the enemy - When you gab throw enemies, kick them away, or punch them twice, you can aim snap and do a couple hip shots - When you combat rush (R1+Square/RB+X) an enemy that is aiming a gun at you, you'll make him drop the gun, and you can pick that gun from the air - You can shoot enemies in both knees to instantly KO them - You can hold the strike button to do combo variations that break block - You can throw enemies to each other and then do a powerful strike on them afterwards - You can throw enemies onto fire extinguishers, electric devices and other hazards to take them down immediately and sometimes enemies around them The combat is best when you mix all these moves and combine melee and ranged combat for a true James Bond experience
This is pretty much a perfectly aligned description of 95+% of my experiences with this game 🤝
I was blown away from the intro song by Lana Del Rey, I hope we hear her sing this at the Game Awards Orchestra.
All the best Bond moments in one Bond. First Light
Finished the game yesterday, game of the year!
