Larping the 1990s without any understanding of the decade.
Written and made by people who didn't grow up in the 90s. It's painfully obvious.
So the writers hated their dads....we get it.
"Theoretical video game" is a great descriptor for this particular genre of slop.
> petty theives > underage drinkers > no responsibilities > no future > public nuisances > vandals > arsons > spoiled > narcassists > refuse to mature > encourage this behavior > doing anything to escape consequences These people would be the villains in any other coming of age story
IGN gave Mixtape a higher score than Resident Evil 9. That's what nepotism gets you.
Just watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, while randomly pushing buttons on an unplugged NES controller…. You’ll have a better time!
Pay not to play, now this is new.
Ironically, one of the best things about the 90s was not having to put up with bullshit games like this.
Media: GTA is teaching kids to disrespect authority, and become terrorists. Also Media: ignore the fact that the charterers burns down a house, and threatens the police, who is also their dad. Its about empowerment.
As someone who grew up in the 90s and had a very tomboy sister, I never once met any “girl” that looked like Stacy, trying to be as genderless as possible. This kind of androgynous trooning did not exists back then. Even tom girls still looked noticeably female.
You know this game was made by people who never lived in the 90s when you see a "cassette tape rewind with a pencil" scene where they spin it in the wrong direction. Not to mention there was no reason to use a pencil to begin with because the tape wasn't slacking.
It was proven by another channel that this “game” only takes 150 button presses to complete over the course of three hours, or 1 button press every 72 seconds. The game asks so little of you that your controller can fall asleep TWICE before the credits roll. EDIT: Channel name is Vivi the Drawn
Not just gaming. Everything that a "modern" western studio touches, it all essentially becomes Mixtape.
These are not 90s kids. These are the kids the 90s kids would've beaten the brakes off of.
These Devs arent even Gen X. They never lived this fake, entirely invented 'experience'. Nobody did.
Remember the Australian government stole public money to pay for this.
Feels like it was written by someone born in the 2000s who heard about the 90s from a friend's friend's like 2nd cousin.....who also was not born in the 90s.
This game could have been saved if when Cassie finishes her narcissistic rant her dad just arrests her and her stupid friends.
This was Mauler’s Fault.
