Malo Gusto has had a frustrating season for Chelsea, but credit where it’s due — he was one of the few players to come out and admit the standards have not been good enough. It doesn’t erase the poor performances, but after a season where Chelsea fans have questioned the effort, mentality and consistency of this squad, it does matter when a player actually says it out loud. Malo gusto is a great right back especially when reece james is injured. He was a top notch player under poch & maresca. But due to manager changes and tactics changes he couldn’t adopt. He lost his confidence but talent is there. This will be a big mistake letting him go.
People forget how young gusto is imagine how tough it is to get used to a system and he was really kicking off under maresca but then 3 manager changes in one season? Of course the performance will drop He will come good and I hope he has a brilliant World Cup

Gusto has that Chelsea defender vibe where they start out mid and grow into legends like Azpi, M Alonso, Cucu, Gary Cahill.

The fact that not all players came out and apologized to us for the dross of this season speaks louder on our captian. James is a top player but he is no captian, Terry would force the players to apologize to the fans on their socials.

As much as Gusto has regressed from the time he's been here the chopping and changing of managers have affected him. I honestly think they need to simplify his role. Just play him as a right back with less build up responsibility. Yes he needs to be better defending the backpost. His one v one defending is usually good when his starting position is correct. With Reece's injury history we need a starting level RB who can play extended minutes. Gusto has relatively fufilled that role. This season was not good but similar to Chalobah he is not supposed to play this much.
Chelsea is a big team where you come an an average player and always leave as a world class player... Take that to the bank.
I would sell him and get Doue from Strasbourg.
