High school wrestler Andrew Johnson was given 90 seconds to cut his dreadlocks or forfeit the match for his entire team. Instead of walking away, he made the sacrifice, stepped onto the mat, and won in overtime. But it was what he did to the referee after the win that makes this unforgettable. ⚡ Fair Use Disclaimer This video is for educational and transformative purposes, falling under the Fair Use Doctrine (17 U.S.C. §107). Crazy respect to the kid for actually cutting his hair to keep his team in
Sue that ref, unless he was following the rules. The rules I saw allowed dreads like his.
I like how the ref is bald
Ref: if I’m bald you will be bald wrestling.
I'm a college wrestler and unfortunately refs suck ass. in high school the ref nearly disqualified me because I was trying to get my coach during a tournament. meanwhile 4 of my teammates were all mid match. I finally grabbed the captain he coached me through it and the ref was on my grill the whole match. he called stalling even though the dude was on his stomach and I was trying to turn him. I won via pin in the third round with 54 seconds left. and refs like "next time have a coach earlier"
Situation: Wrestling regulations state that if a wrestler's hair is too long, they must wear a legal hair covering. Officials claimed Johnson's hair covering was not attached to his headgear correctly, forcing the decision.
That’s so messed up
He doesn't care if he ever referees again. He power tripped a kid and was proud of it.
Adversity birthed a Champion. You Go Young Dude. Your a Winner in Life
“And Andrew, he just kept winning.” What a guy 😮💨
As a wrestler. This is very disrespectful to everyone but he gave up his hair just to win, now that deserves some respect
Damn man, he’s just jealous that the kid had more air than him
Nigerians watching this: "This is Monday to us"
Cut if off... Sounds like it was one he had to cut off, not all.
True character shows when you choose respect and grace, even after being treated unfairly. What he did after the match says more about him than the victory itself
Young blud really said f you ref
THOSE ARE THE RULES.... Pretending they dont apply to you is arrogant... every wrestler knows the rules. Happened to me back in the 80s before a match... coach cut my hair and i didnt even cry lol
That's bull blaming the ref for following the rules
If he had to cut his hair he should have been told that had it cut during weight ins not right before the match
The ref is just mad that he doesn’t got any hair😡
