I like to think, because the cows are producing milk, their own calves have just been taken and then 100 small puppies come in, cold, wet, exhausted and hungry and they look at perdita like absolutely not, we got you girlie.

Such nice cows.

Imagine being Perdita and not only having to worry about your own children, but also of another 84 little ones who were all kidnapped and are now cold, tired and hungry

I remember I read the book before I ever watched the movie, and this particular part stuck with me, though it is different- The puppies had rolled in soot to hide their spots in the trees from Cruella, and it was Christmas Eve. It was snowing, and cold, and they couldn't find shelter. Then, in the distance, they see a tiny light which turned into a warm building. Upon entering, they say rows upon rows of little pillows. They truly thought that the owner of this home must love dogs to have created so many puppy sized pillows. The smallest (and youngest) of the puppies, Cadpig, absolutely loved television, and he found a spot near a large telly. He found it odd that it didn't move, but found the scene extremely comforting and stared at it long after everyone had fallen asleep. He thought it was so lovely, and the eyes in the woman in the stuck scene were ever so kind. The next day, the parishioners of the church were astounded to find all their kneeling pillows absolutely smudged with soot when they entered for mass. The image Cadpig had watched was a nativity scene, with Mary overlooking them❤❤❤

One of my favorite childhood movies. Cate Bauer as Perdita was a great choice. Her voice is so calming and sweet, a way a mother's should be. She's 103 as of writing this.
