I have an autistic child who is nonverbal. I took him to a park when he was 3, he got upset when some adults started standing in front of something he was playing with and started crying. I brought him over to me, and I guess the way he was sitting with his body language set off the alarm for this one lady, who called the Police. It played out very similar to this scene, except for two things: 1) I had tons of pictures on my phone of both of us 2) I'm White There's a part of me that's grateful there's people who trust their instincts and try to protect children if they see something off. Often, there's this power complex people have that they immediately go hostile and double down even when reasoning & evidence come into play. That Lady was still suspicious of me even as I skimmed through almost 4 years of photos with the cop who quickly realized I was his dad. She still thought I was pulling off some elaborate kidnapping scheme 🙄

So let me get this straight she tried to have the child taken away from the guy who turns out to be her bosses husband. Not only is she not getting that promotion but shes gonna lose her job.

This has happened to moms and dads of mixed race kids. One mother was called the nanny and had the police called on her by a Karen. The mother was arrested and the child was taken from her!! Thank goodness for social media because her case was taken to trial after she posted!

I will get involved and call a man a predator but I have a family I can’t go to a police station to back it up

Devil's advocate: Don't know the context, but from this little portion....the "karen" actully has a point The child is so scared they are unable to confirm he is the father. Considering the ethnicity difference, it makes sense for ppl not to instantly connect them as father & daughter. Yea she's being a karen ATM cuz they really are father& daughter... But if it had been an adult about to prey on a lil girl with issues speaking up, then she'd have been in the right. Personally as a parent I'd be hella mad, but at the same time, I'd understand someone was looking out for my child, in the wrong way..... Yea I'm not gonna say I fogive u, nor speak with them...but I wouldn't hold a grudge/fire them for it either

Ok here's the thing...devil's advocate time...looking at it from a different perspective...FOR THIS CLIP... 1st you don't know whats happening BUT you see a child so scared their unable talk. 2nd you see a man of a clearly different race trying to talk to and/or coax the child... THAT'S HELLA SUSPICIOUS. I will say that the karen handled it TOTALLY wrong and went overboard as karens tend to do. My daughter is Autistic, luckily she verbal, but she has social anxiety, and has the emotional level of someone who is 3-4 years younger than her, so she comes off a very childish and clingy. When she was younger If she was had a moment in a public setting and she only had her daddy with her, people would be very suspicious, for the simple fact, she doesn't resemble her daddy at all. She is the spitting image of me. Luckily that's never happened but if it did people would assume something bad. And i would be thankful that someone was looking out for my child.
