Regular jobs will always have a limited pool of applicants because of limitations of physical proximity to work. If you can work from anywhere in the world, the pool is always gonna be way bigger. More applicants = more competition, point, blank, period. Its not up for debate. I don't need kids telling me "oh if you're good at what you do its not hard"... yeah no shit, that is literally true for every single job market on the planet. It's not illegal, it's called contracting. Ever since employers state your hiring is an "arms length contract", that is the exact definition of an independent contractor.
