The Moment His Dad Realized. It started as a simple question about their favorite memory together, and at first it felt light. His son mentioned the time they went camping and fishing, but then struggled to remember more. That’s when it hit. The dad realized those moments used to happen, but not anymore. You could see it in his face as it all connected. It wasn’t about forgetting, it was about time that slowly stopped being made. Sometimes the hardest realization is not what you did wrong, but what you stopped doing without noticing. #fatherhood #parenting #family

“Sorry my boy, i havent been doing that lately” is his first reply, also showing his emotions. This is a great father
He didn't remember the place, but he remembers the experience. ❤
"I forgot the place" is that much more special because it was the experience and the company that stayed with him.
Doing things with your kids will always be their memories, not buying them gifts
I think he speaks for all kids - It's never about the destination, but the journey.
Polynesian brothers are so free with their emotions, I love that about their culture. Good and bad, they get it out
My parents divorced when I was 7 and I only saw my dad once every few months for the most part since he was a drug addict at that time. When I was 6 years old my whole family went camping. I remember walking through the woods to meet up with my dad at the river while he was fishing. I asked him if he had caught anything and he said no. Just then he caught a fish, and another one right after that. He said, boy you're my lucky charm. I'll never forget that.
The dad laugh was actually a strategy to not cry 😢 trust me I've used that technique
That's really all kids want.. Your time! Remember that dads!
"Guilt from a dad feels like torture from the devil, because it is something they will never forget"
I asked my son the same thing. He said his favorite time was when we'd go to the laundromat. I used to bribe him with pizza to go because I thought he hated it. He explained that it was his favorite time with me because we sat and talked for hours. Out of everything I buy or we do, he just wants to spend time talking to me. Broke my heart to hear. I felt like a bad father, but then he reminded me that only good dads worry about not being enough for their kids.
Being a good parent also means realizing your mistake and apologizing for it, even to your own child ❤️
No matter how big of a man you are, your children have that power to make you cry when they say something so simple as this. that bond is something special.
My favorite time with my dad is when I told him I wanted to die. See up until that point he was cold, distant, strict, old headed, typical asian father. He caught me sneaking out to see psychiatrist and confronted me about it. That’s when I told him, I remember the word stuck in my throat for a good 30 seconds, ‘I want to die’. I really believed he could never accept how weak I am. I was wrong. Since then he is most of the reason why I recovered. Telling him on that dinner table, that one day, change the trajectory of my life. He changed who he is for me. That’s the support I’ve never dream about and I’ll love him to the day I die.
Man I’ll probably never be a father but I wish this moment and type of things for every man out there
My brother is quite successful, he's doing amazing and has lived and worked all over the world. My parents came from nothing. No money and very little education, just pure hard work. Dad worked 7 days a week. My brother surprised us all with flights to Maldives. It was such an amazing place. We all arrived and unpacked and it was out of this world. My dad and I went for a walk to one of the beach restaurants. Sat at a table on the beach, within seconds someone came to ask if we want any food or drinks. We both ordered a beer. My dad couldn't believe that a place so beautiful even exists. Perfect weather under a palm tree overlooking a beach without a speck of dirt in the white sand and water that is crystal clear. My dad and I shared that beer and we both said this is the best moment in our lives.
The fact he doesn't remember where they were going says it ALL!!!!!🥺🥺🥺
No material things. Just time spent together in nature
Behind every success story is someone who sacrificed quietly to make it possible.
My father unfortunately never had time because of work. As a child, I was always angry with him and sad. Over time, I came to understand it and forgave him, but the wound will always remain...
